@poppytrinh well, i think that it mirrors the story line of the book Lolita, which is about the relationship between a much older, quite deranged man, and the little girl, named Lolita (obviously), of whom he is obsessed with. in the video, both the older man and the younger boy (and im not sure, but i think even the littlest boy, whos shirt says "choose me") are after the girl. i think the exploding cakes mean that they hate birthdays because thats what makes them different from her

@georginainspace well, this is just my interpretation. but you know how you've got the kid, the teen, and the adult? well. i think they're the same person. its the age metaphor. they're eating their heart... or his heart rather and i guess could be anything from hurting self to eating your heart out. the birthday cake destruction scene was not wanting to grow up. they played a lot with age in this music video...
