"Mama" isn't an English word. It's European, and appears in many languages with the same meaning. "Mama" and "Papa" are sometimes used in Japan (and, I believe, some other east Asian countries). It's just something they picked up. English uses a lot of foreign words, too.
Another explanation might be that Asuka is meant to be German, and "mama" is used in the German language.

The eva dub wasn't bad as far as dubs go, but this is better. Especially that scream at the end. Gives me chills.
Because it's a language you understand? I suppose I see the logic there, but that doesn't make it better, it makes it more suited to you, specifically. I find that as long as I know what is being said, it doesn't matter what language it's in. I can still feel the emotion in the voice, even if I don't understand the words.

No, Voice acting is considered a fail acting for most counties, including Japan. Anime isn't extremely popular in Japan except among young boys, and girls who would more likely want to be Sailor Moon than Nana Mizuki. And some Voice actors are not professionals, Just singers. Although, this isn't many.
This has got to be one of my most favorite scenes from any anime. I really do feel for Asuka here because i sometimes i feel the same way. Lost and alone.
The repeating? I think it might be something to do with the way she sees herself. The actions that define who she is are repeating over in her head as she tries to understand herself and why she does the things she does. Some psychoanalysis BS like that.
Yeah I agree and repeating the same words , but in other way; calm, childlish, angry etc.,becouse she shows this sides of her to others,but she repeating -"It's not me" prapobly the reale "me"
The thing with that is that each time it's repeated it's done by a different member of the japanese cast. It's basically pointing out how she protrays herself is not who she is.

I felt more emotion coming from the English version than the Japanese version in the last two episodes.
And anime CAN be good in English too so it isn't blasphemy, it's just your close mindedness.
