If you listen carefully you can hear the tears comin down from his eyes. Or is that the sound of the guitar crying ? It's amazing though, thats for sure
i saw buddy guy on feb 24th 2011 in dallas. only complaint is that didnt get front row seats. his guitar tone and everything live is nuts. best concert i will probably ever go to.
one day stevie ray vaughn and buddy were doing a show together and buddy asked stevie to borrow $25,000, stevie kindly lended buddy the money knowing they were good friends and it wouldnt be a problem. Years went by before they saw each other again, until one day they got together for another show and afterword stevie says to buddy, "hey buddy, ya got that 25 thousand?" Buddy replies "naa that should about cover it". Confused, steveie asks, "Cover what"? Buddy replies "All those licks you stole"
@NOLA2828 that actually would make more sense considering srv plays just like and his tone sounds just like albert king's.....but the way i heard the story it was buddy, i could be wrong tho who knows, just thought it was funny.
@njs716 I didn't know man.I was asking that's all.I heard about it twice before reading what you posted. That was a real intresting story.Do you think some of those older bluesmen had a little grudge for not getting their due or being fully recognized? If that's true,25,000 grand is alot to give to someone and for them to say that's payment for stolen guitar licks that has to sting a bit.I wonder if some of those guys held any animosity towards SRV,cause anybody could fake it when cameras come on.
@claptongroupie Thank you for posting it. I heard this on Bluesville and had to pull over to the shoulder to listen. I'd never heard Buddy like this. I love his new stuff, but there's something about this that just grabs you and wants to choke you. It's great.
@HumaidAlnuaimi Sad because he is one of the most influential musician ever................. influenced an entire generation of electric blues players including Clapton, Page, Beck, Hendrix, and even Vaughan....................
Screw the autotune industry, I want music!

This is one of my all time favorites. This song is the definition of the blues. Yes, a woman can bring the blues to the richest, happiest men.

This is so great -- no effects, no reverb, just fingers, strings, frets and wood. It does not get any better.
