since i used to be intimidated by the boss i understand why people think its so overstable, but as i have improved i can now say ARM SPEED! i used to reach waaay back and pull super hard. but the wrong kinda pull, you cant pull like ur pullin something heavy its not arm strength. literally realizing the difference between strength and speed made the boss a huge helix disc for me: release like 15 degrees down, and snap that mother across the chest. buh bye!!!
Is it possible for a forehand driver to throw this far, its my first year and iv gottin to about 350 give or take but not 400 + without a good tail wind. what was the distances here?
@ulty777 If you search "Jeremy Koling" here on youtube, he does a forehand drive across a lake in a distance competition, I believe it's 500 feet from one side to the other. His is the longest forehand I've seen. The winning distance from this competition was 507' I believe, but conditions were bad. Garrett, yellow shirt in this vid, can throw almost 700' backhand.
they are throwing some light ass discs for real. no b.s., i have thrown close to 600' without have that huge anhyzer like these guys using my max champ boss. it's all in the form and what works for you.
Their disc speed on their discs appears to be crazy fast at release.Have seen myself in some vids and I see that my release speed isn´t even near half(65%) of their speeds.
And one more thing.
"A disc can fly as far as you can throw it", so if you want to throw a disc far you will only need to believe in your self and train for what you really want to do.
Kidding....Its the most overstable disc I have thrown by a mile. Its confusingly stable actually. Since I can occasionally turn over a destroyer, and they are supposedly rated about the same...
@Romulus123456 If you can occasionaly turn over a destroyer, then you dont need to be throwin a boss yet, Destroyers are very flippy with any decent arm speed.
Must have been an off night for Avery. 507' is nothing for him. These videos would be a lot better if you learned how to zoom in as the disc is coming out of their hand. My friend learned a trick that you start to zoom in on their run up and then it is much easier to keep up with the disc's speed
the weather and ground tracktion play a big part in getting good distance. yeah, I wish I had a zoom option on my digital camera, so this had to work. No one else took video of this event......
I throw the valk very well and im trying to get more distance from it. its beat down so it's lost some of its stability but it seems like i can get it further the older it gets.
it seems like these guys are using understable discs the way the fly, but how do they get such a long right turn with discs like destroyer and boss???
They put a TON of snap upon release and sheer arm speed plus torque on the body arm and hips helps. I don't throw passed 350 feet, but when I do I throw destroyers and wraiths with an almost level angle of release to very very slight hyzer plus I'm throwing like 168-170 g discs. These guys might not be throwing full weight either, but I dunno.
they (top pros) just have THAT much power. I've seen it in person and it's incredible. I don't know about turning over a boss... although I wouldn't put it past them.
naw my friend said that he was recently at a tournament with Robbie and Avery and he said that robbie changed from the "pred" to the flash. then again i wasnt there...
its only amazing if you cant do it,,get off your couch do some pushups run around the block get in shape and spend some time at a soccer field, this aint magic,,, too many lazy people spend zero time really trying

what discs are these guys throwing? Bosses and Destroyers?

I saw Avery with pro destroyers, and Double G I think was throwing the same. Not sure about the others. Problably Discraft and more destroyers.

GG used to throw for Gateway, he won the 07 distance competition with a baby blue Illusion, iirc. But at some point last year he went over to Innova

Pro Destroyers can really go long. My longest couple throws are with Pro Destroyers. Also, glad to hear GG went Innova...finally saw the light!
