  • I grew up watching him. In my opinion he is the best player ever. He was the best while he played, and he played when the NHL was the hardest. Before his time, the game was easier. After he retired, the rules were changed to make it easier. He was the best. (of course this is my opinion heh)

  • Top 5 of all time. Such skill! Greatness.

  • there is no "pavel bure" in team.LOL thats why he never won a cup

  • @tarimaa1 Had nothing to do with the team around him. In case you're new to the sport - you need more than one player to win the cup

  • @ARod016 ,

Read my comments carefully you dumb shit that's what my point is pavel bure was the biggest puck hog in the sports you dumb fuck, he knew nothing of "team" work.

  • @tarimaa1 Normally what happens when you have a goal scorer is that he, well, scores a lot of goals. No one ever criticized Bobby Hull for being a puck hog. People just want a reason to complain about Bure because he was flashy. Would you have a guy who scores 50 goals try to pass? Or would you rather watch him speed past the D and score? I love how some people think scoring goals is bad team play.

  • @ARod016 .

Normally what you want is a goal scorer who knows how to pass. Bobby Hull was before our tme but Brett Hull his protiege was a goal scorer and a passer who won many cups with different teams, that's great to be flashy and to score 50 goals a season but he flashy can you pass? what about all the goals you didn't score being too flashy? you had 4 other guys open? I would rather have a flashy Gretzky who know when to pass and when to score the a Bure who is all about the "score" blinker

  • @tarimaa1 Homer

  • @Slimsoj ,

    Loser

  • @tarimaa1 I guess there's no point in arguing with someone who doesn't understand the role of a goal scorer. Obviously people would rather have Gretzky than Bure, what kind of comparisson is that? All I'm going to say is look at the play at 4:45. He realizes the 2 on 1, and passes it off rather than trying to do it himself. But I guess he's a bad team player because he scored there, right? Alright, my argument is finished.

  • @ARod016 ,

You don't understand my point, that;s great that pavel was a goal scorer, last time I checked it was a point for a goal and a point for a assist, how many times did bure try to take a whole team by himself? lots of time and he didn't always score. How many cups did Bure have? is Bure in the hall of fame? ask yourself this his was a goal scorer and that's all he was there is more to hockey then scoring goals, there's hitting, passing, grinding and so on it takes a team.

  • @tarimaa1 there's also deking, stick-handling, agility, speed, takeaways

  • @tarimaa1 and the ability to take it from one end of the ice, deke and stun every player on the ice while stick-handling pass them, deke the goalie and score the goal. As Squire Barnes said here "he was a human highlight reel"

  • @tsb049 ,

    yawn......did you say something?

  • @tarimaa1 yup i said a lot of things that made your comment worth shit.

  • @tsb049 ,

Yep I know your full of shit, nice gut in your picture you fat fuck!

  • that guy was my favorite when i was a kid. then he pulled the crap with the trade. I still love him tho. Sidenote: Biggest puckhog in Canucks history. But we love you Pavel

  • the most electrifying player deserves to be in theHHOF. Nablo Bype ochenb xoposho :)

  • /heart/

  • Bure will always be the greatest Canuck ever, yes he had disagreements with the management , but for the life of me why isnt he in the Hall Of Fame. Nobody brought the fans out of their seats, even away games. This is an injustice.

  • @manuraiders because being in the HOF isnt about scoring the most goals, its about being the a true canuck...

  • @tm1394 > Bure had back to back 58 and 59 goal seasons for the Panthers and his stats indicate he belongs. Being a true Canuck doesnt make you a Hall of Famer, its your talent that does and even though his career was cut way short because of his knees , players with lesser stats and less ability are in. There is no telling what his total would have been if not for the 5 knee operations, but admittingly maybe he wasnt a true Canuck, but a great hockey player.

  • Pavel was the best chance for a Vancouver Stanley Cup but management messed it up. I don't care about hockey until another Pavel comes along.

  • Bure was drafted 113th overall. That means there were 112 major mistakes at the 1989 draft.

  • @jordanf101 A lot of Russian and Eastern European players were drafted late in the 80's and 90's, namely because the players would have to defect from their home countries due to the Cold War, and the chance of that happening wasn't good at all, not to mention the skepticism to adjust to the North American style of play

  • the best player ever to play in the NHL!

  • Bruins!

  • @JMail12 goof

  • Pavel Bure is the greatest Canuck player of all times! There's no one yet who is better than this legend

  • russians are best individuals in hockey.

  • babych at 5:05 is fucking brilliant

  • He is the best player to ever wear a canucks jersey

  • Again, I think it's difficult to compare Bure to Linden. I wouldn't say Linden was a star, but I'd definitely say Bure was a superstar in Vancouver. I think saying Bure has narcissistic disorder is a bit of a stretch. He definitely received a lot of attention from the fans (more than Trevor Linden). Perhaps Bure's mood to responding to fans is a reflection of the fans of Vancouver. I know some fans are a little out of control. Also, he is russian! You forgot about potential language barriers!

  • does anyone know where bure is now?

  • @yummycocacola

He said he will watch vancouver - boston and best wishes to vancouver. He said 'we were outsiders in 1994 but now Canucks is the great team'.

  • So Linden gets his number retired because he did a lot of good things off the ice? Bure's performance on the ice is ignored during jersey retirement talk? Sorry, I disagree with this approach. Both players did great things off the ice with fans. I think Bure was the unsung hero off the ice and Linden was the better politician. Bure answered tons of fan mail with hand-written responses. Linden contributed considerably to Canucks Place (and was rewarded with unintentional photo ops)

  • Why did Bure want to leave Vancouver?

  • @JuniorNationFan

i'm not sure but probably because Canucks singed Mark Messier. Maybe good for audience but for results... Bure didn't want to be 1 of 2.

  • Pavel bure was the best Canuck , Trever linden was the greatest. That's Indisputable.

  • @TylerVokes

No one from any abroad players will be the greatest for any NHL team

    and you know it

    So your comment means nothing

  • 4:51 thatd be at least 5 games

  • Bure>Ovechkin

  • 1:32 check out the major offside lol

  • @savenor Im assuming you're referencing Bure's drag there. From rule book - However, a player actually controlling the puck who shall cross the line ahead of the puck shall not be considered “off-side,” provided he had possession and control of the puck prior to his skates crossing the blue line.

    Please, learn the rules...

  • @CavemanZX yes, the player controlling the puck, not the other two Canucks who are already past him before his stick is over the blue line.

  • Pavel Bure is not the greatest Canuck ever, Trevor Linden is, Pavel Bure is 1a, for all the talent he had, Treveor had more heart than leadership, and that counts more than talent, but i do miss the Bure days of the Canucks, I never was mad at him for wanting to leave, in the end Bure well always be a Canuck in my eyes

  • @Monst3r83 Linden wasnt even that good. He was a good leader. But Bure's skill was so far above anyone elses.

  • @Monst3r83 Bure greatest skill wise, sedins second, Naslund third. Obv. Linden is the greatest 'Canuck' of all time

  • @Monst3r83 no u fool skill matters more than heart skill wins u championships heart is just talk

  • @dojOdRiFTeR you have never played hockey....thats obvious

  • Great hi-lite reel. Simply one of the best modern day players. I loved watching this guy play the game. His departure from Vancouver was sad but came at a time when management was weak and in trouble. He should go down in the company of Orr and The Rocket. Gretz still stands alone as the very best.

  • speed, moves and smarts. so great.

  • @atourhouse07 Do you know how to read you dumbass? I said everything.lmao.Canada aint shit

  • The greatest ever!!!

  • Who doesn't love to score?

  • whats the name of the song for the intro with pavel bure break away?

  • k if pavel bure doesn't get in the canuck ring of honour that ring doesn't mean anything.

  • Ovechkin`s inspiration.

  • HE IS SO FILTHY

  • Trevor Linden "Not all guys loved scoring, Pavel did" what some guys dont enjoy scoring is he on drugs?

  • love him or hate him, he was one of the best... Bure rocked

  • @woodss3 Stop taking my disses. You're wack as fuck.Damm Canadians should have a better learning system. And when you're not taking my disses the only things you come up with are gay stuff.Stop being so pathetic and take the fact that he left your sorry team decades ago.He had no choice but to play for the Canunks. After the contract he pklayed out he picked to play for a better place.I don't blame him.Theirs nothing but ignorant stupid people over there.

  • @3wademiami oh how'd you like the Olympics? Or world juniors by the way... I thought so. Enjoy losing bronze to the Swedes

  • @Huzeyodaddy Haha.Do you know if people in America are crazy about hockey like Basketball,Baseball,or football.Canada would not have a chance at the Gold medal.Hockey is the only thing Canadians do.haha.That's pathetic.

  • @3wademiami yeah cuz Canadians suck at Basketball and Baseball, not like we are always winning MVP in NBA/MLB... oh wait Morneau? Nash? Heads up yank, a country with 1/10 the population is taking over...

  • @Huzeyodaddy wow.1 person out of 70 seasons.Exactly.you proved my point.you're stupid.keep on bringing more stuff up so i can expose you of that.Taking over? Please graduate before talking to me.

  • @3wademiami

That ain't true, the US hockey development program is top notch. US has extremely talented players, hence the silver medal.....So although the majority of pple in the states might not give a crap about hockey, u guys still develop elite hockey players, that STILL lose to us.

Guess what, our basketball, baseball and football (there really isn't any) grass roots programs r the shittiest of the shittiest, that's y we have few elite athletes from those sports.

  • @CarterMvp I know. U.S. is the best and Canada sucks at everything

  • Comment removed

  • @3wademiami One thing first what does education have to do with this video it's a sport, second Canada is a great country as fact related to this sport is when a american team wins the stanley cup I will put Chicago as an example as list of foreign players and let's start with your favourite country ending with Canada: USA= 5, SWE= 2, SVK= 2, FRA= 1, FIN= 1, CZE 1, and CAN= 19 and so all together except CAN= 12. So 12<19

  • @matiepie2 Did i ask you? If you're going to be nosy and jump a debate than read all the comments between us.If not, you're going to make yourself sound like a retard like what you did right now. That's the only thing they do in Canada. It's cold all the time.I live in America and i never saw snow in my life for 18 years. It's like me saying Canadians suck at Soccer.lmao.Get exposed like dog nuts. What else are they good at.Nothing.They just Waste food.

  • @3wademiami Its youtube. Free to the public. He can jump into whatever debate he wants.

  • @tylerdurdonxx If he does than he should read the whole debate instead of being ignorant of just reading one of the last 20+ paragraphs that i finished roasting hiim 3 weeks ago.

  • @woodss3 So why are their a whole bunch on teams in America than Canada. And if their was a Olympics in Florida and Pavel was there they would of asked the same exact question saying how the Panthers were the best thing that happened to him in his whole life.He remembers the rude fans over there in Canada. And No shit about people going to Canada for the Olympics. They can have it in a sewer and people would still go.That would be the only time people would travel to sorry ass Canada.lol.DumbEskimo

  • @woodss3 I did google that. And Vancouver is far from top 3.Really far.lol.Your last grade of High School in Canada is like 8th grade for Americans. If you think Canadians are smart. Why aren't they in the top 5 Countries?Pathetic. So you proved to yourself that your stupid.Who goes to Canada on Vacation? Nobody.Canada doesn't have shit but igloos. So when you step out of your house you Eskimo.Come talk to me about the world.Until then.Shut the fuck up

  • @woodss3 Your bias and ignorant as fuck.Vancouver is a top 3 city?Bitch i bet you never left your town.Haha.Look at your profile.People done exposed you before.Your just afraid to admit it so your in denial.I know Pavel was the only good thing that happened to Canada. That was the same for LeBron James to Cleveland. And now their both gone so the fans dislike them.Your no different than a an Ex Girlfriend. And your over-reacting.And you can't spell that without using ovary you bitch.haha. EXPOSED!!

  • @woodss3 They don't make orange juice in Fort Lauderdale dumbass. That's 2 hours north.I know you just assume shit and have no back up on anything. If he was an ass to you and you felt that way about him than why are you on his dick. The truth hurts to you.And he wanted out of that wack ass city in Canada to be warm in the winter over here.Haha

  • @woodss3 He's not a brat because he wanted to go somewhere better

  • @woodss3 He is just like LeBron.Like i said. The city of Cleveland was pee your pants exciting too when you go see him play. But when it finally came to his choice in picking a team he chose. And didn't want to be in that city no more and what do the fans do.Hate him, diss him, curse at him.Who wants to go back to that city?No one.Where in Florida the fans still loved him no matter what. And he is considered a Panther.Sorry pictures on google don't mean shit.lmao

  • @woodss3 But if you really think google images saw him play and watched interviews kill yourself. He didn't ever want to be a Canuck nor retire as one.

  • @woodss3 Yea the 1st pic is him in a Ranger uniform.Dumbass.You just makin me look better. He never wanted to be a canuck

  • @woodss3 Oh you came to watch a Florida Panther game so you know the fans? If not.Why the hell are you talking about the fans if you don't know shit about them.See your source is just assuming. So all this time. You weren't right about shit.lol

  • @woodss3 You proved my point. He did exactly What LeBron did.And now LeBron sees himself as a Heat.Same as Bure.Bure has a brain and skills. He didn't want to play for the wack ass Canucks.

  • BEST HOCKEY PLAYER EVER.

I'm Canadian and I love Gretzky, Howe and Orr but that Russian is the greatest hockey talent (not the most points, seasons or personalities) ever. Orr was the only player that even came close to generating the kind of excitement Bure did.

Watch his highlights, all five defensive players in their own zone and he dips and doodles around and somehow manages to go in on goal all alone like it was a breakaway.

  • best canuck (on ice) ever. he doesn't deserve to be retired though, idk what he ever did for the COMMUNITY. he deserves to be in the ring of honour tho.

  • @woodss3 He did what LeBron did.The fans didn't like him after he left.So why should he like them.He chose he wanted out.And he always wanted to be a Panther.

  • @woodss3 He wanted out of that team so he ca be a Panther.Im sure he would consider himself a panther.

  • This guy was amazing in his prime.. Wish he played longer so that rookie card I got of his would be worth more.. I know he left on bad terms from Vancouver but does BC still hate this guy? IMO his number should be retired yes naslund and linden were good but there was only one Bure.

  • He's a Panther.Not a Canuck.

  • @silicon605

you hate hockey and yet your retard ass goes out of your way to search hockey videos? Fuck are you stupid or just retarded? LMFAO I fucking hate hitler so ima search tribute videos on him LOL...owned.

  • My Idol growing up, Best Canuck ever!

  • @silicon605 haha STFU clown. Nuff said.

  • To the kids born around 1985... We all played hockey to be Pavel Bure... He was OUR Sid Crosby.

  • @Joshmofoz you mean he was OUR Ovechkin

  • Man when Bure had to retire I was so disappointed he was one of my favorite players growing up :(

  • imagine if he was playing for the kings la would love him

  • Not many could catch the Russian Rocket.

  • Amazing That Speed *** One Of My favorite On A card.

  • why did he retire so early?

  • @blindbrad11 His knees were wrecked from injuries. It's such a shame because he would've been still amazing if he were healthy.

  • @vi3thunny Your so right. If he were still around I believe he'd get close to Gretzky's numbers or even surpass some of his records.

  • @blindbrad11 Cause canadian assholes kept body checking him and he kept getting injured

  • I've been ignoring hockey this whole time (lived in Vancouver my whole life too) but I wouldn't have if he'd been a Canuck about 10 years later than he was... also, omg, he is SOOOOOO pretty!!

  • best canuck ever

  • I wish Pavel would have retired a Canuck, but I won't hold any anger towards him for leaving. It was ownership that pushed him away... not the fans.

That said, I'm also glad Henrik now holds the team record for points in a season!

  • that's the Rhodes piano lick straight from garage band!....the music is a garage band loop lol!!

  • wow

  • Bure in terms of raw skill, is the top player ever to play for Vancouver.

But his jersey won't be retired (I probably will get a few negatives for this) because of the conditions in which he left Vancouver.

  • its hard to imagine that if things all worked out he would probably just have retired from the canucks this summer

  • I think that the only thing missing from Bure's NHL cv was a Stanley Cup. Other than that a true NHL legend and one the best players to ever don a Canucks Unifrom. I agree his number should be retired.

  • Absolutely the greatest Canuck of all time. He's a guy who nobody will ever be able to say, there's a "next" of. We heard Lindros was "the next" Gretzky, and then it was Crosby was "the next one." Leech, when he first came into the league was "the next" Orr. There will never be a "next" Pavel Bure.

  • Bure, Ovechkin , Maurice Richard best goal scorers ever

  • Ovechkin reminds me of Bure. The passion for the gams and scoring is similar.

  • Comment removed

  • Pavel was the best canuck ever,Period!

    miss him in Van

  • one of the best

  • this russian rocket kicks ass

no one can top it or pass

    his greatness will out last

    all of hockeys low class!

  • The greatest player ever... period

  • Anyone who ever studied sociology will tell you hoe deceptive statistics can be. That's a huge mistake to make a judgement basing it only on that. Just think that he's never won a Stanley whereas some mediocrity scoring twice a season have, or think about any great player in a team that sucks. You may also want to look at other Soviet hockey stars like KLM line and many others- none of them really was the best in terms of stats. I've never seen ANYONE skating and scoring so well as Bure did.

  • yea sure like the fact his goals per game are higher than Gretzkys and second behind Marios, go look it clown face, if he wasnt targeted every flippin time he jumped on the ice he might have been around long enough to make you shove those words back down your throat. PLUG

  • His goal per game is third behind Bossy and Lemieux.

  • @cavalry87

He was really really good, but let's not go overboard here.

  • @CarterMvp There is no going overboard... speed, agility, skating, dribbling, they guy had it all- I haven't seen anyone faster than Pavel ... in my opinion, not winning a Stanley or raw stats serve as a criterion

  • @cavalry87 oops ... [raw stats CANNOT serve as a criterion]

  • @cavalry87 you can't rely on only 1 player to win the cup for them

  • I loved that trademark breakaway to the left side with the speed guy was great! fuck torn ACLs he still woulda been around

  • Remember that Patrick Roy guy?

  • that is a comparison you just cant make lol

  • Haha

  • BEST CANUCK OF ALL TIME,

  • I agree, cos I'm one of those people, never really seen it but watching this is just amazing

  • this is a great video and tribute to the Russian Rocket who belongs in the HHOF! He was simply awesome :)

  • well said!!

  • The reason i got into hockey.... SIMPLY PAVEL!

  • me too, him and brodeur

  • brodeur is awesome! It's great to see him in net again. Goalie's like that will always be remembered.

  • Marty's tremendous but IMHO, Hasek was the most exciting cause of how unorthodox he was. That's the best goalie I've ever seen. Just my opinion.

  • Right there with ya Kovy.

  • Like I said, you obviously never watched Bure play.

  • agree !!! Bure was Bure ... No one play or will like him;; russian rocket for evr;;;;;; damn rangers94

  • You obviously never watched Bure play beyond highlights if you think that Ovechkin is better. He's as an elite goal scorer as Bure, but nowhere near the all around game.

  • Ovechkin is a better 2way player,as well as a better goalscorer.

  • Ovechkin is the new Bure

  • lol not even close

  • Oh well,Ovechkin is better. :)

  • THIS... ...is magic! Watching Bures first shift make me shiver down my spine..!

  • The same happened to me.

  • Been a lifelong Canucks fan..

Bure is my fav player ever for sure, He was so explosive.

The Canucks should explode with Sundin now and Luongo coming back, Hope we get Gaborik in the Offseason

  • Bure was awesome, actually the Canucks had ALOT of fantastic players throughout the 90's. The best part about Bure was that story by a Russian newspaper about his girlfriend having 2 vaginas, lol!

  • And Kirk, remember the save against Robert Reichel?

  • I mean "man I miss...:)"

  • Man I man Bure, the Courtnall's, Ronning, Momesso, Adams, Gelinas, Lumme... and a youngster name Trevor.

  • this video was good

seen it yesterday! lets chat oH

  • Bure is the best Canuck.

Always remember what he did for the team.

Who cares if he left, Florida needed a better player and they still do.

  • I'd like to see him play at this current NHL without the Clutching and Grabbing of the 90's and the Post-Lockout rules (2 line passes etc.)....Ovechkin who?

  • One of the most amazing players ever.

But the check at 4:53 is not determination; that's ku**ing dangerous..

  • That very night:

"Pavel Bure had been subject to several cheap shots during the course of the game that went unpenalized, received a cross check from Craig Ludwig. When he was knocked to his knees, Bure received a whallop from Dallas tough guy Shane Churla. Referee Andy Van Hellemond did not see the cross check or the punch from Churla, so Pavel Bure took things into his own hands; or shall we say took things into his own elbow. Bure leveled Churla with a wild elbow to his jaw." - May 4, 1994

  • Bure is one of my fave players because he was dirty haha. He had the edge that made him who he was. Kinda like Fleury. Fleury had to be dirty at times to stay in the league as a small player. Bure had to play on the edge cause he was a walking bullseye

  • he just dances around ray bourque

  • Bure was treated with disrespect by the Canuck organization. By reneging on there promise to pay him through the lockout. Rumors that he was going to withhold his services if he didn't give a new contract, he got no support from the Canuck organization. After all he had done for the organization and this is how they repay him. And the media camping out on his doorstep, accusing him of being part of the Russian mafia. The media ran him out of town.

Wise words from Jim. He Got no support.

  • He was Injured Dude! A Blown ACL. I'd Like to see you score 50 goals on 1 leg. And when he wasn't injured he was scoring 50 goals a season. Lack of Professionalism? Give your head a shake.

  • Thy forgot what this kid did for this Franchise ....... they still don't remember......

  • EVERYBODY... Listen to JIM ROBSON'S wise words @ 6:12!

    Retire Pavel's #10.

  • He did a lot for Canuck, but Canuck's managment cheated on Bure's contract. As a result, he left the team and didn't sign another contract for the next seasons. He has talked about that several times on Russian television and in sport magazine's interviews.

By the way, it's hard to find any hockey player in the last decade who could skate like him.

  • Pavel Should of got the hall of fame, but again, they pick some other lame player instead of one of the best Canuck Players of all time..... bull

  • Pavel Bure was a great player, but I also feel that Ovechkin is better. Bring on the thumbs down. And that hit at 4:53 was a huge elbow, I don't know why they picked that to show.
