I like this version of the song. The first version I ever heard was Ronna Reeves. I have the versions by Martina McBride and Bailie and the Boys, too.
seems odd the way you intro this song as gail was the very first one to record it as she did so in 1986 then baily and the boys did it in 89 ,michelle wright in 94 and finally martinas version in 95 this song was written by Mary Ann Kennedy, Pam Rose and Pat Bunch in 1986.

And it's not like MTV ever changed, going hip-hop heavy in the 90s and beyond, showing only clips that were $elling most. These days it hardly plays any music videos at all.
VH1 was/is much better for showcasing a wider variety of less mainstream, more esoteric tunes.
But now you can see/hear virtually every variety of music from all over the world thanks to YouTube (especially w/ the VEVO catalogue) & other internet sites.
Now, if someone will please put this Wild Choir vid up . . .
Several people have asked about the original Wild Choir video for this. Well, you can view it at Yahoo music. Just type in info and you can watch. Great, cool vid from back then -- artistically edgy for the day.
@windigo44 Now I know why. I didn't see it the first time. It is because "The content you are trying to view is only available in certain areas." Apparently new.yahoo.music still considers Guam a foreign country because of its geographical location even though it is a US territory therefore part of the US. FML. Thanks anyway.
@YKuserReply Too bad. Also explains why I couldn't click on your YT user name & email you directly. Maybe someone'll post the vid here in the near future.
Yet another example of a great song/act not getting due recognition 'cos it wasn't played in heavy rotation on MTV, the biggest, most influential outlet for new music in the 80s. MTV's tastes were very narrow then, only AM radio/Billboard top 40 formula stuff got on: Madonna, Michael Jackson, Billy Idol, Huey Lewis, Phil Collins, INXS, etc.
wow thanks so much for upping! i have been searching for this for years, i bought single when it came out, i thought it was gonna be huge hit, has been hit for cover artists i suppose. the clip was cool too, i think it was black and white clip.
Baillie and the Boys did a great version too, but the best was Kennedy Rose. This is one of those songs that got cut a lot before it finally connected with an audience.
I remember this song from the 80s . . . I often wondered why it didn't do better than it did . . . much better than all the other versions.

@YKuserReply Yes it is.
1) Into your search engine type NEW MUSIC YAHOO and click on the site.
2) Type WILD CHOIR into the MUSIC SEARCH box (not the web search box).
3) Scroll down to VIDEO RESULTS and click on SAFE IN THE ARMS OF LOVE by WILD CHOIR.
4) Watch and enjoy.
To check, I just watched it one minute ago. It is still one of the best vids of one of the best songs ever.

I love this song! I knew Martina's version was a cover, but couldn't remember who did it in the '80s. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting this, KS. Gail has been in my top 10 for many years now. . . despite Billboard's rankings.
