  • I didn't know nor expect you to sing in Hindi, Raymond. It's a very nice song, and you're excellent at it! Congrats!

  • @Chomuno Thanks, Chomuno. I have another one in Hindi too - and a few in Chinese!

  • Good job Sir! could you post the chords that you played?

  • @Sidrockism Chords of all my songs are on my website. (See link in the information panel above.) You'll find this under Songs From Around the World.

  • Great song, you did great job friend.

  • @a4acharya Thank you.

  • I first heard this chant on a Weavers album many years ago. Thank you for your lively, heartfelt version. Last weekend I attended a Krishna Das kirtan in NYC. I wish he would use this chant in his kirtans, and I am so grateful for your eclectic taste and choice in performance. You are a solid soulful musician.

  • @MerlePsyA The Weavers did a great job in introducing us to songs from other cultures.

  • Hi am karthik indian you are excellent

  • @guitarkarthik1 Thanks for watching.

  • I want you to try singing a Sikh Spiritual Song. For reference, search for videos of "Snatam Kaur" on google. She sings SIKH Spiritual songs and she and her songs are gaining popularity not only in India, but also in Canada. I am a sikh. For any help in pronounciation or meaning of a particular sikh song, feel free to contact me. '

    Regards

    Angad.

  • You're great. Today is 2nd october ' 2011, Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday. I was searching for Raghu Pati Raghav song on youtube and suddenly i came across this video. It surprised me. I suddenly posted this video on my facebook wall and received many many LIKES. Many of my friends posted this video on their wall too. Music is a medium through which one can connect with others easily. Your performance has touched my heart. Many Indians are watching you and you are a Music STAR in India now.

  • @angadbir1989 Thank you for your kind words. I have made many friends through music. In fact I have just been staying with a wonderful Italian singer in Rome who I met on YouTube. I love to sing music from other cultures as it is, as you say, a good way to connect with people. Especially when I can learn to sing great songs like this one, an appropriate song for Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • I appreciate your effort. But for me, your version of this beautiful song was depressing. With a little more effort, I think you could have sang the song with much better diction and simpler strumming of the guitar, which would have been closer to the original song.
