Hello, nice video. We have an organ just like this, but the stickers have come off the knobs. Could you please tell us the order the label stickers go? Thanks :)
Thanks. This looks exactly like the organ my grandmother had. It was a Lakeside that her father bought her in 1902. I see you no longer have the top. It is sad to see so many of these lose their tops to fireplace makeovers. Thanks again. I spent many hours playing a Lakeside at grandma's and later when we got it. Still miss it.
@motstraumen Thank you so much for your kind message. In fact, I always supected the top was missing. Most of these 'cabinet' organs had a top with a mirror, but it disappeared... perhaps I will rebuild one if I can find a Lakeside catalogue.
Yes, sir. The differences are first in the air system : pressure or suction. But also in the registers and mecanicals dispositions. The reed itself can be compared, and the style can also enter in conideration, etc. For your second question, I don't know. Perhaps it's linked to UK/USA organ manufacturers ?
A l'européenne ? mmmh ... Estey aussi mettait des bougeoirs de temps en temps, non ? Comme beaucoup de reed-organs ici, celui-ci a été importé et vendu via la Hollande. A bientôt !
How nice of you! ;p Thank you! It sounds nice and looks even better! Can I have your big old french harmonium since you got this one? ;p Just kidding! Nice interesting version of that hymn. I miss the alto and tenor parts though, if you know what I mean. ;p And I mean that very lightly. ;p
Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry, but I will never give the instruments I saved ... This Lakeside is really good, and I think I good worked on it ! More brighter photos will be on my blog in a few days. And thanks for not killing me for my interpretations :)
Good attempt at that Gordon Young Prelude in Classic Style. I have been tring to figure-out how to do that on my Reed Organ.

Nice instrument, nice first piece.
Do you know what's the difference between reed organ and harmonium reeds? The difference in sound is considerable.
Do you know why the first american harmonium builders decided to use suction instead of pressure?
