creo que el oktava mk012 es mas sutil, y tiene menos respuesta en los transients... para el estudio me quedo con el oktava mk012, en cambio paralive, me quedo con el shure sm81, humilde opinion de un tecnico joven.
The Oktava has a lot more presence than the Shure 81. The 81 has a more rounded tone and emphasises the mid range and bell a bit more imo but I think the Oktava is responding far quicker to the transients...
I have a Trion 8000 and Apex 460 modded by Michael J at Octavamod. The Trion is modded after a Blue and the 460 after a C12.... both mics kill. He is the best and I couldn't be more happier with my decision to do the upgrades. Hearing is believing.

I have both the Sm81 and MK012 mics. Depending on the client's cymbals and hats is where I make a decision....bright cymbals I usually choose the SM81's or KSM 184's for overheads to tame them and dull cymbals I use the MK-012 to bring them into the mix better. They all work well. I do use the SM81's in the studio more than the MK-012's however if they were stolen I would buy another matched pair right away.
why do recording vids always have the worst music???

i have two sm81's as overheads and i love them. the MK012 sounds a little muddy, and choked. I dont like it.
