  • @maenne74

It seems to be "like a king"

  • @maenne74

    "like a king"

  • so glad i found this . giving me the will to pick it up .just wish i could burn the sounds out like that. ah well i can dream. thanks mate.

  • Aweosome, alot of rockstars don't or can't explain Mr. Harper is obviusly as educated as he is talented.

  • 7:07 Have u ever played a guitar and said " This song doesn't sound good on this guitar, but I bet this song would. " That's because a guitar's sound controls you, not the other way around.

  • Man, that's an awesome cover of Manic Depression!

  • what effects would he be using? like what distortion pedal do you think; blues driver? :P

  • Ben is the King!

  • cool im like that i started with bottleneck slide for a while now and i just started lap slide it makes sense what hes talkin about

  • He is epic...

  • if someones interessted, i own a recorded version of ben harper playing manic depression

  • are you talking about a video recording of manic depression??? i'd love to.. what can i do??? im so interested!!!

  • nice job on manic depression, absolutly terrific

  • I'm glad he found inspiration and expression with his 1940 guitar. Personally, I truly love his acoustic gospel roots on his first two albums, 'Welcome to the Cruel World' 1994 and 'Fight For Your Mind' 1995. 'Burn to Shine' 1999 and 'Diamonds on the Inside' had some great lyrics, but all the distortion noise really turns me off and has made me stop listening to his music. Seen him 3 times in concert and it was ok, great singer/decent songwriter. I'd rather listen to Jerry Douglas play dobro.

  • i agree fully mate, his best in my mind is welcome to the cruel world... it all has a place though, even the heavy amplified sound. but i think his over reliance on it has changed his audience and now his live performance... they're so rowdy now he wouldn't be heard without it... cant wait til there ain't any more electric... i'm an acoustic purist even on stage...

  • your stupid

  • I personally love the distortion, Faded is my favorite song by him.. To each their own I suppose.

  • Hi, what is the song played in the first part (at the beginning)

  • Puuuuuuurrrrreeeee Magic!
