  • So... am I the only one that wants a Protomen and The Megas collaboration for a Megas CD based off Megaman 3, hell, maybe even some songs for Proto's Act III? It was Protoman's first appearance, think of the possibilities!

  • MegaUpload :D

  • As seen on: GayGamer.net.

    Huh?

  • Damn you 8 Robot Masters for the dislikes!

  • Does anyone else notice that this works just as well for the Protomen universe as the canon one? Hell, "They call you hero" matches nearly perfectly "You are our hero" in Sons of Fate...

  • @AisuTheSpiffy i agree fully with you, but in the protomen universe dr.wily has gone far beyond evil. in the megas they focus mostly about how dr.wily was right and trying to make him the hero. hence- "death does wear blue."

  • @darkzzii Oh yeah, beyond this one song they're very different, just this is sort of the overlap.

  • Nice song.

  • Lyrics?

  • @Rypleys1 fight me

  • @SuicidalBuu when and where?

  • ROBOTIC HAIR

  • Mega Man = Jesus. Dr Light gave his only son to save mankind, so did God.

  • @Dexaan There's also Protoman, Cutman, Timeman, Oilman, Gutsman, Bombman, Fireman, Iceman, Elecman, Tornadoman, Auto, Eddie, Plugman, Hornetman, Magmaman, Concreteman, Galaxyman, and Jewelman, and finally, X.

And the MM3 Robot Masters but Wily helped build those.

  • @zzzUnknownDBZzzz You've got it mixed up . Archie's comic has only been in production recently, this has been up for 2 getting on 3 years. Archie quoted the Megas!

  • @KillerNess90 It came from the Archie Comics issue of Megaman I believe.

  • I'd recommend any fellow Protomen fans to check out The Megas' acoustic versions. I thought I didn't like The Megas too at first (way too pop for me), but the acoustic versions were so amazing that I went back to the originals and started to appreciate those too.

  • Where can I find Version 1?

  • @Spongesponger Trust me this is the better version

  • Personally I think Light's point is pretty poignant; if he wanted a Robot Master, he could've built one. He clearly built Blues, Rock and Roll to fill some other need.

  • @DrBeard Roll was bulit for one purpose to be a Housecleaning and cooking bot (No really that's the truth) Blues was Wily's and light's 1st creation and Rock not really said but in all Manga and Comics I've read he is Light's Son in a way

  • @KillerNess90 I've always heard it as Megaman was a service bot or something that Wily didn't give a shit about taking, so he left him, then Light made him much more powerful.

  • @donut56980 I'm going by the Manga I've read but I looked it up and some people say that he was a Service bot and Some people say he is but light made him look like what he though his son would look like (it resembles what he looked like at Rock's "age" and Roll looks like his dead wife (No really that is why Roll looks the way she does

  • @donut56980 Did you not watch the into to (I think) Mega Man 5?

  • @donut56980: Rock and Roll were both created to be assistant robots, with Rock being the 'ideal' of what Light would have as a son, same with Roll being the ideal daughter. The first Robot Masters were made to be public works robots, assisting humans in those dangerous areas (Iceman and polar excavation, Bombman and explosives removal, Gutsman and demolitions, etc.), which Wily reprogrammed and stole. They also became good again in the manga others mentioned (and I don't remember a wife at all)

  • I love this band. I got all the albums I could from them and I can't wait for them to come out with more to add to my collection.

  • 7 people dont have hair..

  • @SonicPAJ

The "I made you in my image..." part was also in the third issue of the Megaman comic.

  • This was in the Mega Man Universe Trailer.

  • @SonicPAJ But sadly that game will never see the light of day

  • Let's just enjoy the music instead of arguing among ourselves on which Megaman cover band is better, shall we?

  • The Megas are okay... but the lyrics are atrocious. I don't see why people compare them to The Protomen other than they're both based around Mega Man. The Protomen is basically a dark retelling of Mega Man, albeit with broad strokes. The Megas just sing to instrumental versions of Mega Man songs. I prefer The Protomen for their amazing world building and atmosphere. Also, I love 80's styled music in general.

    Seriously, "I GAVE YOU HAIR!"

  • @PsychonautCameron Yeah, but what about people who want to nostalgia to Mega Man? I absolutely fucking love what The Protomen did with their retelling of Mega Man's story but The Megas music nostalgia'd me hard. As far as the lyrics goes, really? Out of all the words in the song, you nitpicked those 3 words? Kay.

  • @Rahful33 You're really calling that a nitpick? "I gave you hair" is a terrible line. I thought it was an apt example, there's no need to be such a prick. Why is the hair so important that Dr. Light needs to yell it? There are plenty of awful lyrics throughout the album, "this is the ending song," "I'm dressed in blue, this is my song."

Good music should be judged by its own merits, not by your 'fond memories'. Give me your reasons for liking The Megas, liking something just because of nostal-

  • @PsychonautCameron (Continued) gia is pretty pathetic. The Megas are decent, but they have some lyric issues and I don't really like their singer too much. Their lyrics are almost like that dragon kid who sings to the Sonic songs.

  • @PsychonautCameron they fleshed out and added personalities to the robot masters. Which sure as hell made a difference when I played through MM2 again after listening to The Megas.

  • @PsychonautCameron Mega Man isn't supposed to be taken seriously to begin with. It's all just for fun. I mean come on. Scissor Robots, robotic-dog sidekick? It's all light-hearted fun. To expect a band to have such meaningful and in-depth lyrics about a robot with a robotic-dog as a sidekick is pretty retarded. Yeah it's fine that you don't like The Megas style in general, but accusing them of unsatisfactory lyrics? Lol. Lyrics is probably the main reason why I like The Megas to begin with...

  • @Rahful33

    Haters gonna hate, I guess.

This is the second guy to do this, right?

  • @Rahful33 Mega-Man wasn't taken seriously because of the time in which it was released. If we were to see a reboot, how much do you want to bet that they would start with 2 and go with the more engrossing dark side of it? Because, personally, I think that would be the best possible move.

Also, the lyrics are the main reason you like this? Nice way to say something just to spite someone. Furthermore, if I want nostalgia, I will instead listen to The Protomen because they do tell the right story

  • @thelonewanderer13 You didn't see the rest of my comment, my fault about that. I like them because they added personalities to the Robot Master, Didn't do it just to spite PsychonautCameron. Lol, what the hell? If you want Nostalgia you will listen to The Protomen cause they tell the right story? Their story is completely different than what went down in Mega Man. If I changed the names of the characters in The Protomen's lyrics it would have little to no connection to Mega Man,

  • @thelonewanderer13 Not to say The Protomen's version isn't good. Like I stated before, their reboot and dark retelling of Mega Man's story is FUCKING amazing.

  • @PsychonautCameron It's quite simple. For me:

    1) The music is better produced. It may not be their own composition, but it sounds so much better than the gravel of The Protomen.

    2) Poorly written lyrics aside, the singer has a better signing voice. Seriously, it's easier for my ears to listen to this than, say, "The Will of One".

Tastes in music differ from person to person. It's arrogant to assume that your feeling of nostalgia (I love 80's styled music) is more right than someone else's.

  • @PsychonautCameron

I gave you hair , is a perfect characterization note when you think about it. It's very defining for what they are talking about in the creation of an artificial humanoid. Everything else on Mega's body can be colored to look human, but the hair is something special, Dr.Light most likely had to make that himself or specially pick that out, in an area he's not well versed in (He's PHD is not in hairdressing after all).

  • @ByronicWriter Is that what people think when they hear this song?

"Dr. Light must be pretty proud of his boy's artificial hair. Doctors don't make hair too much don'cha know." It would've made more sense to yell I gave you power or something. With your explanation I gave you hair could work as one of the lines building up to the yell, but as the actual yell it sounds kind of silly.

Also, "This is the message from Dr. Light" does not work. Title drops are not necessary in every goddamn song.

  • @PsychonautCameron That's not to says The Megas are terrible though, I actually really like their acoustic album.

  • @PsychonautCameron The lyrics come from an old, officially licensed Megaman comic.

"I gave you eyes. I gave you sight. I gave you powers. A sense of justice beyond any compare.... Heh... Robot hair."

I know I'm chipping in on a month old discussion here, but I thought that some readers might want to know that little tidbit. The band's attempting to appeal to nostalgia on all fronts, and I thought that played an important part in it. The EMPHASIS on the hair? Just humor, is all.

  • @HarharHagrid You've got that backwards. The comic is brand new. The issue that the line was used in just came out this June. It was included as a tribute to the band.

  • @GigaCaptainOlimar No way!

I can't tell which is greater: the geekiness of the band or the Megaman team's like for them!

  • @PsychonautCameron Hey, Mega Man's hair is pretty important. Without it, the Mega Man 2 title screen wouldn't be the same! :)

  • @rockmandude4 If ByronicWriter told me that and not the characterization BS I'd be happy!

  • @PsychonautCameron I just think you are mad because you have no hair.

  • These guys are amazing...so are the Protomen....If they ever did a song together, my head would explode from awesomeness.

  • @TheArchsage74 That would be awesome!

I'm just not sure where in the world we would find a hospital large enough to deal with the fans suffering from awesomeness overload and melted faces... ^.~

  • @TheArchsage74 That's a very disturbing thought. Maybe you should get your brain pressure checked.

  • The original 6 Robot Masters and Dr. Wily disliked this.

  • 5 people have a differing taste in music and are entitled to their opinion whether we agree with it or not.

  • @SoaDfan15 finally, someone is mateur

  • @SoaDfan15 But they can be trolls. You know, internet is full of trolls. But yeah, maybe you are right. (and i know this if from 6 months ago).

  • @SoaDfan15 Opinions can be wrong, in my opinion.

  • @SoaDfan15 I bet your one of the few that disliked

  • .....what about Roll?

  • stupid question - what exactly is this a remix of? I know I've heard it...

  • @arceecanada Mega Man 2 Stage Select.

  • @SuperSketch008 Thanks - didn't think it could be just that since it's a full lenght song :)

  • mp3 please! :D

  • I wish I had robotic hair.

  • @Duothimir

    FUCK YES.

I bet Shatner had a robotic toupee.

  • Wow, this is actually really good and well-made

  • I gave you powEEEEEER!!!!

    Favorite part! ^-^

  • @gcanel poweeeeeer?? lol it's poweRRRRRR!!!!

  • Every time I hear this I think of Megaman Universe, and just get more excited.

  • I think The Megas need to do this song but with a 8-bit mash up...

  • @robotmaster101 Ditto. You can find programs on the internet to compose music in actual nsf format, so they could make it custom and everything just like here only with the 8-bit instruments. Furthermore, they can then convert to wave, and use audacity (or something similar to it; from the sound of things they use this kind of program already) to layer multiple tracks in order to get around the whole nsf 3-note-chord limit and layer vocals on top (maybe drums too). Would be awesome.

  • ROBOTIC HAIIIIIIIIR

  • i listened to this and then i realized: THIS SONG IS IN MEGAMAN UNIVERSE TRAILER

  • Three people have heartburn

  • Mega Man: Light? Are you ok? Light?! LIGHT?! Can you just give me Item-3!

  • Roll versus Siren Woman! You get Siren Screams!

  • Astro Boy's better.

  • mega man: ...why the hell are you singing?

  • This is by far one of my favorite Megas songs, right after Sparked A War and The Quick And The Blue.

  • I know I'm a Slowpoke, but...

    /watch?v=dSPoPRcuCPY

    Exactly one minute in.

  • 2:13 - So Megaman has "Heart burn"?

  • @FearfulPerson YOU GOT

    HEART BURN

  • This song makes me tear up. Fatherhood does weird things to a guy.

  • I love this song. Doctor Light's love for his "son" is powerful.

  • You know, some of their songs worked better acoustically, (heatman and woodman i feel are better acoustic tracks than the originals). This one though, is friggin amazing as is.

  • @Eponymized how could u say that? both are waaaayyyyyy more badass on a real guitar and drums rather than an acoustic guitar and slapping the table

  • @Xethcher The vocal parts are way better in the acoustic versions! Since the vocals are the best part about the megas, I think the acoustic versions are better. That being said the originals definitely have more energy overall.

  • @Eponymized when you day original do you mean acoustic.?

  • @Xethcher , No I mean the original electric versions. They recorded the acoustic versions afterwards.

  • this would be more enjoyable without lyrics.

  • haha, capcom used this song in the Megaman Universe trailer :D

  • This is amazing , im digging it \m/

  • @luteus77

Yes. They already released an EP called Sparked a War.

  • Are these guys gonna do MM3?

  • ...and now the image of a fat white haired megaman wearing a labcoat is forever burned into my brain.

    This song rocks.

  • This song is better as an acoustic.

  • The Megas/Protomen arguments are retarded, especially since they fucking have played plenty of shows together recently.

  • 2 Dislikes? >:( Fuck you, jonabong55 & another pussy. ¬.¬"

  • This was used in the latest Mega Man Universe trailer.

    Awesome, no?

  • @kyubihanyou Agreed. Found this song from that trailer :)

  • I GAVE YOU POWER.

  • Why do people compare this band with The Protomen? Honestly, it's like comparing apples and bananas. If I had to choose a band, it would be The Protomen, but that's only because their live performances are some of the most badass things you could ever watch. Ever.

  • @TheJebbedo Lol.

  • @TheJebbedo I agree, the two bands are rather different. If you want Mega Man songs with lyrics then look no further then The Megas. If you want epic songs based somewhat based on Mega Man's story then look to the Protomen. I personally love both bands.

  • i just heard this today and i'm diggin' it but like all the other mega's song seam a little poppy like in the vocals does anyone know of other mega's songs that sound like this one. tnx

  • @dogswalkinghumans

Yah not to hate on the megas but some of there first vocals aren't that great. If you check out there new track though "you've sparked a war" There vocals are alot better which gets me really pumped for the MM3 album.

  • @ComradeChamberlain theres gonna be an mm3 album? that'd be nifty. also i found look what you've done from megatainment and i'm liking it the screams are pretty nice. evolution of circuitry, metal dance and well all of the mm2 songs are growing on me rapidly though.

  • Why the hell people must compare The Megas and Protomen all the time? They are completely different things. The Protomen create their own original music and The Megas is a video game cover band. Just getting sick that I can't see a single video about The Megas without the comments being full of Protomen this and Protomen that.

  • I heard a couple of the Protomen songs, but I still prefer The Megas over them. Anyways, onto other pressing matters. If you prefer another band over the one you are listening to at the moment, then keep your comments to yourself, and not say you like another band. I find it fairly childish, and can create a lot of drama in the comments section. No band is better than another, as everyone has different tastes than you. Just because you like a band doesn't mean everyone else has to.

  • Dr.Lights story is sooooooooooo saaaaaaaaaad.

  • @Macrossize01 /Agreed. It is..

  • Thanks @HiroRyu2.

  • "This world gave me no child so I built one"

That right there is why Dr. Light is a badass.

  • Apparently this is meant to be the Level Select theme...I honestly can't hear it.

  • @Zeralith its the backround guitar when its quiet

  • @Zeralith most early heard at 2:20

  • @baval5 easily*

  • The Protomen have some REALLY terrible songs.....they also have some REALLY epic songs. The same goes for The Megas. If i had to choose between the two, id probably choose the Megas because they are more consistant, not alot of epic songs and not alot of terrible, terrible songs, but plenty of good songs, whereas The Protomen has so far been one or the other for me.

  • @baval5 lol the protomen have gone through 7 different band members.and yea the megas are more consistand but then they get boring quicker. but i still will be waiting until jan for their new cd.

  • The only thing that can describe what I felt when I first listened to this song :

    Mind = Blown

  • I love the morons who argue which band is better The Megas or The Protomen. next on the comparisons apples and Corvettes. They are singing about seperate things dont try to compare them. Both are awesome in their own way. They did a show together which was epic. I highly doubt either one thinks they are better so why are you trying to make it seem that way.

  • @jonabong55 That's why you took your time to comment on a Megas video. Go circle jerk to a Protomen song. Pretty sure no one here cares.

  • @jonabong55 Why do people get caught up in the Protomen and the Megas, more specifically, which is better?

They really aren't the same kind of music at all..

  • @Slaanash Simple. They're both bands based on Mega Man, and paints a darker image than what's it's the game. But that's where the similarities end, and everything else is just fan dumb thinking that solely because of that, that there should be some "rivalry" between the two.

I suppose I should be thankful for the idiots, though. If not for it, I would not have found a link to The Megas' awesomeness on a Protomen page I visited.

  • @jonabong55 I would love to see you do better music...

  • @jonabong55 Fandom=FanDumb.

  • @jonabong55 Too bad the Protomen can't even adjust their volume on their vocals to overlay the background music properly. I can barely understand what the hell they're saying because they're such freaking noobs. So ummm, sorty, bitching that the Megas are "ripping off" the Protomen is just retarded. Besides, what, because one band likes Megaman, no one else can? Idiot.

  • @PerfectChaosZeta I agree with want your saying, but that was posted 4 months ago, I don't think anyone cares now.

  • @PerfectChaosZeta Protomen's Act II album had much more professional audio quality than the first. Though there are times I feel the vocal audio is balanced right, their instrumental arrangements say that they are definitely not "noobs."

  • @FluffyBunniesOnFire You're right. I'm sorry, calling the whole group noobs was utterly uncalled for, as their guitar rifts and lyrics are decent. But, I still can't understand what the hell they're saying because SOMEONE, maybe the guy who sets up their equipment or mixes their albums, is a noob. The vocals should not be that quiet and ought to be clearer and more crisp. Instead they're filled with "noise" and get swallowed whole by the awesome guitar rifts. =(

  • @jonabong55 Shut up dude, Both bands are good.Nobody took anything, it's all based on Megaman (obviously).

  • @pantscheese Yeah! Why can't we just both be happy there are two bands rocking out about Mega Man!

  • @Rahful33 way more than that, it's almost like some sort of hidden community out there made of Mega-rockers. There's The Megas, the Protomen, Duane and BrandO (they do other games too), Mega Ran/Random, Hyadain, and probably loads more that I've never even heard of. It's too bad almost none of these sorts of bands ever get liscensed and widely recognized, it's a lot better than mainstream.

  • @Rahful33 There Has to be a Crossover album of MM9

  • @Rahful33 + brentalfloss:D

  • @MrInsanity25

And from what I understand, BrandO is getting in on it, too.

  • @PwNeDoScAr Really? Any idea when that might happen?

  • @willpwn4cash

Not a clue. As far as I know it's been underway for a while.

The info regarding it that I found on BrandO's site (which was kinda vague, itself) listed the artists who would be involved, but no release dates. And that info disappeared in the recent site overhaul. I'm honestly not sure whether it's still going forward.

  • @Rahful33 I want one about Quickman. Oh.

  • @Rahful33 Heheh, you sure went from "no one gives a shit about the Protomen" to "Let's appreciate both bands!!" pretty quickly.

  • @TerradudeV2 Never said no one gave a shit about the Protomen! I just told him to go circle jerk to the Protomen cause he's so madly in love with them he can't stop himself from talking smack about The Megas ^_^.

  • @Rahful33 People always have to bitch about something.

  • @jonabong55 hhahahahahaahahah stfu

  • @jonabong55 Not to mention Protomen's songs are an alternate future rock opera that uses their own original bg music where as the Megas use songs from the games. The bands are completely different and both excellent. You're retarded jonabong, seriously. I hope you realize one day just how stupid you really are, so you can go 'An Hero' and make the world a better place for the rest of us.

  • @jonabong55 Go to hell. Both are great, but the Megas did a song with Brentalfloss, and it was amazing

  • @jonabong55 wow really who cares if there are more than one band dedicated to mega man if anything that just makes things better cause we get two point of views towards how the remixes should be so just shut up

  • @jonabong55 Fuck you... seriously talking about the protomen they suck donkey dick. They're soooo terrible. The Megas ROCK!!!!

  • @Trollingwithmyhomies

Hey now, relax no need to go into fanboy defense mode. Both are really good.

  • Listen to this AND the NESsage at the same time. It's awesome.

  • "But the burning in your heart I did not put there."

This line made me like this song. I first heard these guys a long time ago and wasn't exactly impressed, but damn have they improved. Good show.

  • damn never actually listened to the megas extensively, only protomen but they seem pretty badass also many ppl prob already said this but a mashup of protomen and megas would seem perfect, or atleast a joint concert

  • you know this song makes me wanna edit my novelisation of The Protomen's album to include the songs by the Megas too. It could work maybe

  • @stikibunn I can honestly see this coming after "Vengeance". Mega Man is being all hot-blooded, just annihilating everything that comes his way, and Light reflects on creating his son, the both the restored hope that he's been given, and the fear that he may lose Rock like he did Proto Man.

  • @Aztyph japan BTW:protoman = blues.

  • @legomario Oh, I know. I just didn't want to put "Blues" over "Proto Man" for whatever reason.

  • 3:31 t is fucking awesome.

  • Have all their albums! Love em'4evar!!

  • For everyone wondering where you can get this song, it's on "Get Equipped" now but wasn't originally. If you own the CD send them an email and they'll send you the track.

  • this

  • @CBmonkeyHERO I did exactly that...and got a reply that it wasn't in the original DL, and that's it. I never got a link to the additional track, nor an offer to get one. I guess they started this after I emailed, at some point.

  • epic :)

how does a MM fanboy like me go so long not knowing about thease guys

  • Dr Light: Get ur weapons ready

    Megaman have been equiped with...

    Megas Rock!!!!

Ultimate skill ever!!! XD u rock!!

  • "This is the message...from Dr. Light."

    That part is so badass.
