  • Ronald Reagan is the man!

  • @BooBop1987 YES HE WAS!

  • @armywife871 And he was way better President than Obama!

  • He lowered the top tax bracket to 35%, which is what it is today; Obama would like to see it back up to 50%. Of course, his buddies, like Warren Buffett, doesn't pay any where near 35%, because he shelters most of his money, but the Prez, like most politicians, isn't going after any loopholes, because it would dry up donations into their SuperPACS..

  • You do know that there is no law that gives the right for govt. to tax your income. Your income is taxed solely to pay for interest on our national debt.

  • Did he just praise youtube at the end there? :D

  • You call me an idiot, yet you failed to make any rebuttal regarding the facts I displayed. But, like all Reagan apologists you lay it at the feet of Democrats in Congress, absolving your hero of responsibility for happenings on his watch. It must be terribly frustrating to realized that your God was either an utter failure that was nothing that you have been told to think he was, or that he was just some senile old fool trapped in the office unable to effect anything around him. So which was it?

  • maganaonline is clearly confused!

  • He allowed cartoons to become 30-minute toy commercials instead of being entertaining and informative!

  • Reagan supported abortion rights and unions, advocated raising taxes on corporations and the wealthy, kept us hooked on foreign oil, quadrupled the national debt, armed the future taliban, expanded the size of government 200%, ignored AIDS until it became an epidemic, socialized the Savings and Loans, launched a failed war on drug, took us from being the world largest creditor to the largest debtor and wanted to grant illegals amnesty. Yet you Cons have annointed him conserva-jesus. Pathetic.

  • @TheHavok25

all the things you attribute to Reagan are Democrat Congressional actions - your bias is clouding your judgement.

  • @TheHavok25 Wow, you lied on every point. Kudos for a supreme lack of integrity/education.

  • Democrats made the entrepreneur into a pariah. Now they have passed a law even taking the patent away from the inventor. Good job democrats!

  • Gobaldegook!

  • Best president ever I say if we do raise taxes do it only on the poor and middle class so wealthy people like me only get a tax cut no one else deserve one but the rich we worked hard middle class and poor did not period

  • One video and you all become supporters of Reagan...Shows why this country is falling...If it has sheep like the comments on this video then it deserves to fall.

  • Except for the fact Reagan raised taxes 11 times....you are a moron if you think Reagan was a good president.

  • @coopmuch56

Morons like you are responsible for the corrupt government we've enjoyed for this past century.

  • @goldivox Are you kidding me? Reagan was the biggest corportists there is, it HIS kind of thinking that lead to the sub prime mortgage crisis that collapsed the economy.

  • @MrPirate71 I guess selling weapons to our enemies,(Iran) and supporting terrorists like Osama bin Laden qualifies you as an American hero. He also supported anti democratic forces in Latin America. He truly was evil and you don't even know basic facts. Even his own kids thought he was an asshole. Get an education you brainwashed right wing moron.

  • @star50ify

Another unbiased comment from a Government educated stooge.

  • Wow Obama should take notes. Here was a president telling people to start new businesses and be an entreprenuer. Holy shit it worked too. Reaganomics were the reason for the longest sustained peace time economic growth. That is a fact. So if you don't have any facts to back up your socialist rants you will show your ignorance and we will laugh at you. We might even call you names and taunt you. HAHAHA

  • reagan was the last good republican

  • @DRisLegend200919

Eisenhower was the last good Republican.

  • @xiquiripat I agree, Ike was the last good republican president, Nixon and Bush Sr. were okay, but every other Republican we've had in the last 50 years sucked big time.

  • @mr19932001 you prove to be an idiot. Kudos for a lack of education.

  • @xiquiripat Ron Paul 2012!

  • It worked then, but this bafoon we have in office now obviously missed this memo.

  • hey Ronny you were a great president but if you could travel twenty-seven years into the future and see what kind of slum were living in it would make you want to hurl

  • What a fucking scumbag Reagan was. He cut Tax rates for 5% of the population. 95% end up paying more to this day. Burn in hell you cunt.

  • @star50ify Tell me again where you obtain this information

    ?

  • @star50ify You are probably one of those shit bird leftist pinko commie fags that don't know shit about anything that was here ten minutes before you. I bet your an Obama supporter. This man was an american hero that served this great country with pride. Faggot commie.

  • Thirty years later, we're still suffering from your mistakes, President Reagan. Thanks a lot.

  • Reagan over Socialist Obama any day! All you liberals and socialists can suck off.

  • @seltzerc Either you're a troll or don't know what socialism is.

  • Reagan... what a joke. Only the rights' base (teabaggers) would think Reagan did anything good for america. Illiteracy kills.

  • he destroyed the world, along with thatcher

  • I'm part of the 1% and I approve of Reagan's message!

  • Comment removed

  • Here is the simple fact. Reagan lowered tax rates on the wealthiest Americans. The missing revenue forced him to raise the debt ceiling EIGHTEEN times, which is, BY FAR, the most than any other president in history. So, sure, rich people got richer, but it was at the expense of the country. We are STILL feeling the effects of the 80's, and probably will for many years to come.

  • I'm inspired.

  • watch?v=xF17rfZ7bns <--- location of the video of Reagan wanting to tax the rich, says exactly what Obama has been saying...now that's comedy.

  • Conservatives would HATE Reagan today...he supported taxing the RICH!!! AHhahahahahhah...all that "class warfare" stuff, and Reagan himself was a class warrior...you can't make this stuff up...the video of Reagan basically saying verbatim what Obama has said is right here on YOUTUBE!! hahah

  • @woochild Start 1:53 "by lowering everyones tax rates all the way up the income scale, each of us will have a greater incentive to climb higher, to excel, to help America grow" End 2:03. That sounds nothing like Obama.

  • @woochild Youre a complete idiot and you have no idea what you're talking about. Go read a book before you open your ignorant mouth in a public setting and reveal how little you know. People who actually know what theyre talking about can see quickly and easily see how uninformed you are and its just a flat out joke.

  • The small business I believe discussed is Microsoft and they had a house to be able to have a garage to start from and Preston, Gates & Ellis (like electric company initials) was a very successful firm and Bill Gates father did not worry that his son may complete a Bachelors degree (he did in past 5 years) which I have from American University in Washington, DC which is like USC in that the alumni association helps people find careers.

  • Listen to his whole presentation, not just one part, history repeats itself, that is why I request a chance to join an award winning team in Washington, D.C. to help innovate with President Barack Obama.

  • This would only work if EVERY American received the same wage NO MATTER WHERE THEY WORKED.

  • @BioHunter1990

Yes, we remember FDR for his debt & spending. He was spending his/our way out of

the Great Depression. Kudos to him for that. Pres. Obama is in the same

position but under attack for doing the same. National debt increases

during the Johnson Administration = an average annual rate of 5.35%/yr, the

lowest we've seen since his time except for Bill Clinton. Reagan gave birth to

the systematic wealth shift to the 1%. That's nothing to celebrate - that's

    class warfare.

  • What about letting workers get the product of their labour? It is the boss who steal your money, not only the government.

  • @23lFrench If an employer does not make money, he has no incentive to produce or employ. The results of that are pretty obvious, and common sense dictates that the environment to produce and employ must not be hostile to prevent the degradation of any economy.

  • Reagan tripled the national debt. How's that for a legacy?

  • @okiepol Do we remember FDR for his debt and spending? Do we remember Johnson for the same? No...we remember those men for their impacts upon the world in which they lived, beyond that of the debt standard. Remember that next time you focus on one aspect of a President's service to his country.

  • hey president erkel are you listening ?????

  • As much as conservatives claim they love Reagan, anyone that would propose the exact same policies as he did would be branded a socialist today, lol!

  • @bradjbourgeois73 that's how senile they are Reagan believed the stuff ron paul is saying now

  • Reagan is my hero. i want to have his kids, and thats not even possible....

  • that the poor not the rich, good job reagan you ass

  • with bush bush we lost hope and lost the surplus now we have no cash reagan was a child molester raping his son in front of the jesus statue

  • When Reagan was president we cut deals with terrorists. Hell, we even armed them.

  • I am not a fan of Reagan, but something can be said about the people who wish to follow in his footsteps; they won't. Again, not a fan of Reagan. But the people today who try to represent them are only opportunists, and while Reagan was as corrupt as the next guy, at least he didn't talk about how great Thomas Jefferson and George Washington and at the same time no nothing of their history. Or blame natural disasters on stupid things, or promoting theocracy. I miss the old republicans.

  • @letsmakeapoint I think Goldwater would have made one hell of a president...... and I'm a card carrying liberal.

  • @mymovienerd Goldwater was a radical. liberals supported lbj in the 60s

  • @shotsky94 I don't give a damn who the LIBERALS supported in the 60's. I'm not from the 60's and I'm saying that I would have supported Goldwater. Nuff said.

  • @mymovienerd Goldwater was going to drop the nukes. And he was virtually a libertarian. Without LBJ, there'd be no medicare, etc. Goldwater was small government etc to the core!

  • @shotsky94 If JFK was never assassinated LBJ would have been a blip in history..... so what's your point?

  • @mymovienerd But he was so LBJ's not

  • raise those motherfucking taxes now !

  • Reagan: i got your hands bound

    and head down

    you got your eyes closed

    your forced wide open.

  • haters guna hate

  • How can anyone question him at this point? Reagan, 2012!

  • REAGAN 2012!!!!!!!!

  • @maganaonline Didn't they tell you that he passed away.

  • What a great liar.

  • ..Survive..from last comment.

  • To bad we couldn't wake this man up from the dead and save us more destruction and failure.I notice no bleeding hearts made their usual comments about how evil or bad this man was just because of a republican and a conservative. It's because they...Well the smarts one knew that he wasn't perfect but he was right just by steering the course and simplifying what needed to be done. Not to Reagan but thats how simple it was.Now it's just a mess....Obama 2012...Thank god for term limits if we

  • They should call it table scrap economics for trickle down economics. The rich get all the food and while the poor and middle class like dogs get table scraps. I mean facts and statistics show that through income from the 1980 to today how much the the 2% incomes increased compared to the middle class.

  • Today, politicians always look like they're talking to a crowd, turning their heads left and right all the time.

Here, the president looks like he's talking to ME.

In terms of presentation, I prefer that.

  • @TheJboy88, well duh because the teleprompter is right in front of them. Today teleprompters aren't as big and cumbersome and they are put on two thin screens that are hung near them. That's why when Obama does a speech he looks right and left. I mean every single president since the teleprompter use has done this even Reagan.

  • and the rich and middle class get a better world to live in. Just look at the tax rates during the golden age of America (which was before Ronald Reagan, mind you), and you'll see why our country became so wealthy and progressive.

  • Any one against taxing the rich is really misinformed. Heres how taxing the rich works: The top 10% is taxed 80%, which leads to government spending, the government uses the money to build the infastructure, education, social services, militairy, etc. Because these services require workers, jobs are created, which leads to more taxpayers, and that means more money into the economy. Infact, taxing the rich helps the rich because they have more workers making their companies money, and cont...

  • No, there was a net decrease in taxes even with the FICA and excise compromises. President Reagan presided over two major pieces of tax legislation which together reduced the top tax rate from 70 percent in 1980 to 28 percent by 1988.

  • Reagan raised taxes though.

  • @bryanthomas108

    forbes . com /2010/02/02/barack-obama-ronald-reagan-budget-taxes-opinions-contributors-rob-shapiro

or just google "reagan raised taxes" and you get a ton of articles on the subject.

Funny how the right wing god is more liberal than right wing crazies today.

  • @bryanthomas108 Google it up smart ass.

  • we need a fair tax. democrats need to realize that anti-business pro-socialist policies will enslave the american people and destroy our country's super-power status.

  • @deficithawker

now look at Obama - national debt - over $14 trillion means about 70% of the economy. We may be doomed and the country may die when it hits over $20 trillion in debt.

  • @theraver2020 You are spewing right wing hate propaganda!!

  • @deficithawker Wow, why would you block someone from posting on your vids who asks sincere questions? What are you UBSCARED of? Isnt that your other youtube ID? Do you have problems defending your big govt position to someone who actually thinks past the lint in his navel? How does it feel to be a coward unable to defend his position?, Did you hide behind your Mamas apron, too, coward?

  • @deficithawker BTW, I notice that you delete posts from your uploaded vids who offer a different opinion than your own? Seems to be kinda Chicken Shit of ya. Cant you handle open dialog?

  • @deficithawker Found this little gem on the JEC report. The 1993 Clinton tax increase had the opposite effect on the willingness of wealthy taxpayers to expose income to taxation. IRS data shows the income generated by the top 1% of income earners declined in 1993. This decline is especially significant since the retroactivity of the Clinton tax increase in that year limited the ability of taxpayers to deploy tax avoidance strategies, temporarily resulting in an increase in their tax burden

  • @deficithawker You tend to mix income tax RATES with a whole host of other unrelated taxes that he had to compromise with dems on and you do it to deflect from the truth. Lets cut to the chase here shall we, 10 year old? We've crossed swords before and you have shown yourself to be a big govt, big spending re distributor of wealth, Reagan saw govt as a necessary evil to be kept in check, you see govt as a means to take from each according to his ability...oh come on, you know the rest by heart.

  • @deficithawker It is dishonest to say Reagan increased taxes 6 of 8 years because it ignores the different areas of taxation. ERTL in 81 CUT ALL income taxes 25%. TEFRA in 82 was business and excise taxes and the removal of some business tax deductions.TEFRA was a sucker punch from democraps in that it was sold by promising $3 in cuts to $1in tax hike which they never delivered. Reagan could not overcome the spending impulses of Congress, the ones who signed the checks.

  • @tbwil11 Yeah, but he could have vetoed all of those spending bills if he was "real conservative" which he was not.

  • @Mr40acresandamule Yeah and the media would have attacked him even worse than they did and called him obstructionist or whatever trend of the day was. He compromised to get things done, regardless, other than the ssi taxes, the rest were mostly excise and user related and there is no denying the good that came from lowering that top rate.

We dont have a military industrial complex that Ike worried about, the fall of the Soviet empire was engineered by Reagan, what price could we put on that?

  • Ronald Regan I might not like him that much, but he sure was a great fucking actor.

  • hmj

  • It's a proven fact the the wealthies wealth increased dramatically and the middle-class wages stayed stagnet under 'Reaganomics', so tax cuts for top tier earners DO NOT work.

  • Wasn't it Bedtime for Bonzo a long time ago...

  • @tripfunkmonster -im not looking for an argument despite what this looks like. but my point is that it all evens out in politics so be careful about choosing sides too steeply. "a blind sheep is a sheep non the less".

  • @tripfunkmonster -tell you what. im neither repub nor dem and one thing i noticed is that you dont see obama going on tv and being that transparent about what he's doing. secondly, YOU are the exact type of person reagan is talking about. lowering taxes for everyone means that its a millionaire tax break. lets back up the clock for a sec to all failures during jimmy carters presidency. does hyper taxation and inflation or the farm crisis mean anything to you, or do u not like to eat food either?

  • One remarkable example of an absolutely shameless sociopath politician. No empathy, no remorse.

  • TAX CUTS FOR RICH ! CUTS FOR POOR ! IT'S IN GOP BIBLE

  • He's right about the simple tax system, and that the wealthy use too many loopholes. But lowering the taxes doesn't help get rid of loopholes. Plus lowering them brings up the debt. But I do like his simplistic tax idea, just not the percentages, plus having taxes higher on the rich than the poor is a discrace. A flat tax is okay, but a regressive tax is just a bad idea in my opinion.

  • Reagan FTW!!!

  • gobbledy-goop

  • Reagan began the destruction of this country.

  • Reagan began the derrtuction of this country.

  • Well... This didn't work. How about we raise taxes?

  • people who make their political party as their username are the ones you don't to argue with. because they cant make a point.

  • SOMEONE's taxes is going up, some people were in the 11%, 12%, or 14% category, now they would be in the lowest or 15% category. Read the fine print people not the words of a politician.

  • now after saying that we cant really afford a wave of immigrants into our country right now because economicaly speaking we dont have enough jobs for the general population so we cant just have amnesty right now nor would i support it because now they come to live off the state they didnt back then

  • Reagan's tax cuts Worked! Apple Lisa computer: 1982 (although only 5% of the 23% tax cut in 1981 in the middle of Carter's recession), Sony CDP-101 CD player: 1983, Motorola DynaTAC 8000x cell phone: 1983, Apple Macintosh computer: 1984, Nintendo Entertainment System: 1985, NEC TurboGrafx-16 home video game console: 1987, Sega Mega Drive home video game console: 1988, Nintendo Gameboy portable video game console: 1989, Atari Lynx home video game console: 1989. 70's kids must have been bored!

  • @conservative608: No, we weren't bored. We left our bedrooms. We played sports and outdoor games & breathed fresh air. Thanks to the past five Wall St. administrations your generation's children won't know what fresh air is. It's sad.

  • @tripfunkmonster Not from what I hear from my parents. From what I hear is that you went from the bedroom to the stuffy basement to breath air in between bong hits. It amazes me that your generation was too stoned to pick up an economics book, hippie!

  • @conservative608: Your parents know me? I've been a martial artist for 35 years, grew up playing sports every day and have read extensively my whole life. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm drug free. Got any more childish cliques? (By the way - Why did you think I was being confrontational?)

  • What can we say? Or do? Reagan loved the Corporate Dick!

  • @deeppurple28 Not as much you love the USSR

  • @Dalek1230 Nope, never been there, but I would like to visit France!

  • @deeppurple28 Like many left wing zombies you didnt need to :) its a shame you would have seen what a hell a "socialist paradise " really is

  • @Dalek1230 Listen you brain dead ice plant, I know you gop fascist idiots don't bother to read much however, if you had been paying attention you would have learned that Reagan gave 3 MILLION illegals FREE AMNESTY! Thus the stupid Son of a BITCH Reagan expanded SOCIALIST Mediums! Yes once those 3 Million Wetbacks and their anchor babies became legal citizens, it opened doors and windows for Social Service Programs like Welfare and job Programs! You stupid little twat! What are you 15?

  • @deeppurple28 that is true that he did that but lets look at what those illegals now do as citizens (because ill tell you most welfare sucking people are either illegals, or puertoricans) see from what ive seen most citizens that come from hispanic desent are hard working honest people and actually subscribe to capitalist right wing beleifs because most of them cmare here for work not live off the system. i dont necessarily beleive in amnesty but you cant just deport them all

  • I remember Reagan and his tax reform. LOL I just started my first real job in the early 1980s and remember my boss complaining he had so many openings because of expansion he couldn't find enough people to fill the jobs.

  • @Sanjou62: Yeah, I remember Reagan's millionaire tax breaks, too. I also remember his catastrophic stock market crash in October '87 and his Wall St. bailout. Not to mention his Chamber of Commerce that advised AMERICAN corporations to move manufacturing overseas to reduce expenses. How patriotic.

  • Reagan was A DISASTER for the country !

  • Hey Raygun,How's that tax cutting and deregulating working out now?? YOU MORON!!!!

  • I sense a revolution on the horizon... I smell treason in the air. It's only a matter of time before the government gets what's coming to it due to all it's corruption. The government is going to push the people to far beyond the point of being pissed off. They are going to push us to the point of insanity and America will then implode. Just a matter of time ladies and gents. If we don't get our shit together now, I can promise you, the United States won't exist within the next 200 years.

  • Way to go!! i loooove you soooo much!! when a government is willing to give away its right to taxation, it is saying "im sure that you can spend your money on what you want better than your neighbor down the street" please email me if you disagree or agree!!

  • When Reagan was President, we had Bob Hope, and Johnny Cash. With Obama we have No hope, and no Cash.......

  • @ironman51852 hahahahahaaaaa!!! ur hilarious

  • That is because the powers that be that run things in this country want the economy to sink so Obama can be voted out! Reagan's policies are the reason why we have military industrial complex, why wages for the middle class have plummeted as it relates to inflation, and the middle class is now the poor class. Ask someone who was black, poor, low-middle income how great the mighty "Ronnie" was. There is no such thing as a "good" economy!

  • @ironman51852 OMG! So clever, but sadly - so true.

  • @ironman51852 But Obama lowered taxes?

  • @ironman51852 I suppose we have all conveniently forgot that we lost both Cash and Hope during Little Bush's presidency...

  • @ironman51852 Lol nice bro

  • @ironman51852 and no brain....

  • "Government is the problem"? But wait, private corporate interests own government and buy policy today? So does that famous quote still hold water?

  • @jons44 well of course government is the problem! ever studies rome?? Rome had an overwhellmingly large government! In order to pay for this large government, the romans decided to increase taxes extremely high. This caused the entire roman empire to collapse due to too much government

  • A classy guy, he wouldn't have partaken in the kind! low-balling and defamation-filled campaign ads that were aired in 2008 elections. Regan was a gentleman where ever he went.

  • I was born in 1977 and I have seen an explosion in technological innovations since I was 5 or 6. Gee, I wonder what happened in 1981 that took us from Ataris to Nintendos, records to CDs, Altair computers (switches & LEDs) to Apple Macintosh computers (graphical OS), etc. Could it have been a tax cut that cut top income rates from 70% to 28%? JFK in 1963 said that was best way to raise government revenues. I guess Clinton took one more accomplishment he didn't deserve (gov't surpluses).

  • @conservative608 You must have done some research from several sources.I wish more people would realize that.Politics is evil though and its easy to make somebody look bad as president.

  • @conservative608 I don't see how cutting top tier American taxes has anything to do with Nintendo's success. Since they're Japanese...

  • @YoungGarrett Lol. But don't ignore the other stuff he said.

  • @YoungGarrett Where do you think Nintendo sold all those NES consoles? The USA.

  • @maganaonline Oh very true. But how many millionaires bought them? I don't think cutting the top tax bracket in half helped the majority of the USA afford a NES console. It just meant the roads started falling apart.

  • @YoungGarrett - They invested the tax savings in Nintendo!

  • @conservative608 More than half of the "technological innovation" you speak of came out of Japan, and Apple didn't take off until after Clinton was president when we were able to break Microsoft's monopoly on the software industry (via "big government intervention.")

    Historical illiteracy

  • @conservative608 A Republican who doesn't understand technology, economics, or common sense & has never heard of Japan. Well that's unsurprising. Seriously revenues went up under Clinton for the same reason they dropped under Reagan, the Laffer curve the same thing JFK was talking about when he lowered the top income tax bracket & all those tech innovation came from Japan & Moor'es law.

  • @yellowkrux I smell B.S. Reagan pulled the economy out of a economic slump which Carter left it in. The misery index went down from 19.33 to 9.72 during his term as President. That's while he increased the size of the military in order to apply pressure; successfully pulling down the Iron Curtain. He reduced regulation, lowered taxes and kept Inflation under control; business boomed as a result.

  • @yellowkrux Also, "Moore's Law" is only applied where businesses can openly compete with one another. Moore's Law comes to a grinding halt if a business has no competition to keep up with, as is the case with any competitive market. Thus when the government owns the power to tell which businesses are allowed to be successful, their success is only based on the government's agenda for that business, it's competitors and the targeted market.

  • When businesses own a market with out any competition the market stagnates, because there remains no reason to increase the quality of production when there is no other qualified production to compare it against. Thus you have a monopoly on the market and you then weed out competition by boosting regulations, so the cost of entering the market is too great for any smaller business than your own.

What you miss is that businesses fight each other through supporting government regulation.

  • Somewhere in your liberal twisted mind you think republicans actually like crony capitalism while you do everything in your power to keep it a problem by increasing the very same damn regulations that keep those corporations so fat. Mean while lawyers lobby the hell out of democrats so they can increase laws & regulations, so they can sue each other for a big billion dollar piece of the pie; driving up cost of health care and the cost of products of any kind.

  • @MRKetter81 I don't know how you interpret me informing some Republican that that commie liberal Reagan was not responsible for the tech advances do to Moore's law & that Reagan's policies did not result in the Clinton surplus, means I think Republican like crony capitalism. I don't think that at all, I know they LOVE it. The party famous for only creating regs that help there donors & eliminating or refusing to enforce all others, loves crony capitalism.

    PS

    Learn WTF Moore's law is.

  • @yellowkrux I'm a republican and I don't "LOVE" crony capitalism.. the only damn reason most republicans even vote republican is to keep the idiots you democrats keep electing out of office, so you're dead wrong.

    PS

I know what Moore's Law is as I work in the computer industry moron.

  • @MRKetter81 So you vote for the party most known for crony capitalism as well as war crimes, domestic crimes, etc.. to keep the party less known for all of those thing out of office? Are you functionally retarded?

PS though I am a democrat, I am not a Democrat learn the difference.

  • You're right this time Mr.reagan , taxation is enslavement , genocide , and a death threat.

Anyone attempting to tax me will be met with deadly force.

I recognise the two men in the garage as Hewlett and Packard.

But Mr.reagan , the technical sector is locked down and the united states govenment allowed them to take total control of products and servicing of those products and they lock everyone down to their demands.

    Revolution !

  • What Mr. Reagan is SAYING, i.e., "by lowering everyone's tax rates all the way up the income scale"---is NOT what he is SHOWING in his charts. He's saying that 'everyone" gets a tax cut. But in reality, only the WEALTHY CLASS at the top got a TAX CUT---of 60% (70% in '82 DOWN to 28% in '88). The MIDDLE CLASS at the bottom got a TAX INCREASE of 67% from 9.1% effective UP to 15% in '88). The first tax cut for the wealthy class was in 1964, when the top rate was cut from 91% to 70% by democrats!

  • @okjackgroup Can you present some numbers I am interested.

  • Reagan's "historian" is a reference to the Laffer Curve. If he had told the whole story, RR would have said that the Laffer Curve theorizes a top rate of 70% to MAXIMIZE REVENUE, i.e., 70% (RR is proposing a 50% decrease to 35%) was (and is) the historically average top marginal rate that PAYS AMERICA'S BILLS. Likewise, 10% (RR is proposing a 67% increase to 15% from 9.1% effective) is the historically average bottom rate that maximizes the expansion of the middle class and small businesses.

  • This clip is dated 5-28-85. Actually the TOP RATE was cut by 28.6%, not by the 25% Reagan mentions. The bottom rate was actually 0% in '85 (not the 11% that RR shows). What RR is actually proposing is eliminating the bottom rates of 0%-11%-12%-14% (effective rate: 9.1%) and raising them to 15% (a MASSIVE INCREASE FROM THE BOTTOM of 67%!)---while at the same time cutting the top rate from 50% (previously 70%) to 35%. He actually got the top rate cut to 28% (a MASSIVE CUT FROM THE TOP of 60%!).

  • "goverment IS the problem" Ronald Reagan - your are so right !

  • @nutbagbrew102

thats why he joined the govment,he joined to prove it.

  • What Reagan started ('88) & Bush finished ('03) cannot be explained in 500 characters. However, the BOTTOM LINE to disingenuously cutting the top rate from 70% to 28% (now 35%) between '82 & '88 is: a $13.5 TRILLION debt; a $1+ TRILLION deficit & 24% fewer jobs created between '82 and '10 than between '46 and '81. The minimum average top rate necessary to pay America's bills is 70% (NOT 28%). Likewise, the maximum bottom rate for continuous expansion of the middle class is 10% (NOT 15%). OKJGp
