You can't say it was just from sunlight because it was night when they left, and just stepping outside his skin was much darker. So basically the animators just said "Fuck it, let's change his skin." Which is bullshit because Tack lost like 80% of his adorable when his skin got darker. *sigh*

@deamonsead I think one of the "Thief and the Cobbler Unfinished" clips shows a sequence in the desert where Yum Yum watches Tack looking at the sun and seeing that he's now gotten a tan. I guess that got lost in the making of the story. It would have made more sense.
