  • The music is pretty boss in the beginning. Not gonna lie.

  • "Night on Bald Mountain" Fantasia sequence reference at about 8:30!

Also, apparently most of the hand mountain (as he flies by) is playing Rock, Paper, Scissors.

  • slave beesches

  • 8:10

HEY I'VE PERFORMED THAT SONG. :D

  • 4:08 Did anyone else think he was taking a piss?

  • seriously? the preparing to fly theif is Fantasia music

  • Night on Bald Mountain! Epic win!!!

  • Good god. The music for the thief flying is too perfect. ._.;;;

  • The thief's expression at 9:04: Lol, fuck logic!

  • The thief isn't Jewish, is he?

  • the thief on the cliff with the "wings" and music is a direct reference to fantasia

  • 5:02 - 5:06

    Now that's what I call a HAND-job!

    ...Oh gosh I'm so sorry...XD

  • did we go from Mussorgsky to Soussa?

  • Is that Rimsky Korsakov's Scheherazade I hear in the background at about 3:06 ???

  • This laughing camel is the best :D That laugh is better than in version from 1995, it's so sad that they cut so many significant scenes like meeting with Mad Old Witch... What do you think about it? I think they should do film with all this scenes in pretty intergrity :)

  • 8:11 Oh snap.

    Shit just got real. OAO

  • 3:43 I love that fucking camel.

  • What would happen if One-Eye told his women to form a giant woman?

  • whoa whoa whoa.... 8:20... i heard that music in kingdom hearts!

against the chernabog boss fight in the last level... look it up!

  • The thief makes me cry with laughter, gotta give him points for trying

  • 8:10 - And Night on Bald Mountain suddenly starts playing....such a surreal yet mesmerizing film.

  • One-Eye knows how to live it up!

  • I don't get why the thief keeps stealing stuff. I mean, the stuff he steals he'd clearly live in luxury if he sold at least one item that he steals. So I'm beginning to think he's just a kleptomaniac at this point.

  • strippers?

  • Holy shit I want to hear the rest of One Eye's song

  • I just realized at 2:10 the last card Zig-zag grabs is the joker. How very fitting; I love the subtlety.

  • 5:52 To have such detail (I mean, every single language was translated almost perfectly!) this is surely Williams' masterpiece.

  • Yeah, I sit on a thrown of bitches. What you gonna do about it?

  • 0:07 BEST SHOT IN ANYTHING EVER

  • air force theme LOL

  • Wait a minute....is he making a Fantasia reference?.....................OMG HE IS! Thief = Chernabog! This is hereby one of my favorite movies.

  • 4:08 I thought he was taking a piss XD

  • Oh Mighty One Eye! Eye Eye I am Zigzag! XD

  • what is the music at 7:00 - 8:02? Please someone respond..

  • @stcolreplover

Nearly every piece of music in this film is taken from Rimsky-Korsakov's symphonic suite; "Scheherazade" (one of the rare exceptions being the scene with the Thief at 8:10--that's "Night on Bald Mountain" my Mussorgsky).

  • @takigan much thanks

  • lol the Fantasia reference ftw. xD

  • Whenever I listen to :00 to :37 I think of every major villain ever created. This includes disney, non-disney, Marvel, and sometimes DC villains and villains of my own. lol Love it

  • "Giant bird! Giant bird!"

  • As much as I'm enjoying this version, I must say I couldn't help chuckling at the scene where the thief bashes into one sign after another, remembering the line, "Hmm, they should have a sign, 'BEWARE OF SIGNS'!"

  • Villains have the best music.

  • One Eye's got a thing for fat chicks ;)

  • @toocheaptobuyatripod They need love too. XD And, the rack size is a plus too. XP

BTW, since Baghdad got sacked by the Mongols in rl Middle Ages, do you think the One-Eye Barbarians=Mongols? :?

  • Wile E. Coyote = The Thief = The Squirrel in Ice Age

  • I freaking love the Theif and the Cobbler =D

  • OFF WE GO, INTO THE WILD BLUE YONDER...I love the Thief's flying scene.

  • Haha I love the Fantasia: Night on Bold Mountain Reference

  • At 6:26 if you see the sign that says stop,it is written in almost all the languages. As if tourists went there.

  • I can't understand this. What the heck is one eye's teeth made out of.It looks like old fashion curtains.

  • It's a wonder that Fido has any tail feathers left.

  • Why are slutty women always fat in kid's cartoons? That never made sense to me.

  • @kyrtuck this isnt a kids cartoon

  • @ShadowFox909 I don't see why not. There's no humor thats ballantly "adults only", except for maybe the Dancer from Mumbai or whatever, part.

  • Was thief flying the the anthem of the U.S. Airforce?

  • omygod wait...

    3:13

    MR POPO?!?! :O

  • XD Hahahaha! A Fantasia reference

  • i wana see it full

  • big booty bitches!

  • This Thief is like Willie Coyote!

  • I love the reference to chernabog

  • Wow, they left so much out of this in the released version.

  • "oh look, a walking tent!"

"hey look - a DROWNING tent!" XD

  • ...AND the Dumbo reference at 9:07!

  • Love the fantasia reference at 8:25!

  • @cattieloves are you sure that, since this was a 30-year-in-the-making, that fantasia wasn't making a reference back to this? just wondering. ^_^

  • @FreakifiedChildhood The Thief and the Cobbler does have a long history, it's true, but I believe it wasn't dreamed up until the 60s. Fantasia was released in the 40s. :)

  • @cattieloves aaah, okay. see, i've never seen fantasia ^_^ i really should, though XD

  • @FreakifiedChildhood You've never seen Fantasia?! *GASP* Oh, it's so good! I watched it a million kajillion times as a kid. Drove my mom nuts. :)

  • @cattieloves XD sounds like i'm gonna have to watch it now! XD seriously, though - it's on my "to watch" list which is, sadly, growing...^_^

  • 4:08 It looks like he's pissing

  • OMG!!! THE THIEF AT 8:27!!

He's mimicking the Devil (Chernabog) from Fantasia!! With the music and everthing!! That's AWESOME!! XD

  • Would you believe that the guy who voiced One Eye was just a deliveryman who Richard Williams heard in a hall. He must've scared a lot of people with that powerful voice of his.

  • @winterscott1991 Thanks, it was in the wizard of oz too. Look up "The Wizard of Oz part 9" on here and go to 3:50

  • Anybody know the music playing around 8:20? I've heard it in the Wizard of Oz and a couple other films so I'm guessing it's public domain.

  • @thajaro

It was heard in Fantasia, not Wizard of Oz. The title is called "Night on Bald Mountain."

  • Vincent Price certainly knew how to make a persons skin crawl.

  • Hey this was uploaded on my birthday almost a year ago! :D

  • Is there a name to the song which is playing when ZigZag enters One Eye's tent?

  • I love how Tak gradually gets tanner throughout the movie.

  • @ShubbaBANG Obviously he got more direct sunlight through the course of the film.

  • @Scoonertuna Actually, as soon as they left the palace his skin had changed. You can't say it was just from sunlight because it was night when they left, and just stepping outside his skin was much darker. So basically the animators just said "Fuck it, let's change his skin." Which is bullshit because Tack lost like 80% of his adorable when his skin got darker. *sigh*

  • @deamonsead I think one of the "Thief and the Cobbler Unfinished" clips shows a sequence in the desert where Yum Yum watches Tack looking at the sun and seeing that he's now gotten a tan. I guess that got lost in the making of the story. It would have made more sense.

  • @NeverDoubt1 Yeah, I would believe that much more.

Besides, the atmosphere of this film is already surreal, so this just may be some of the film's surreality.

  • @Ericzhanger True, this film hardly screams, "We're going for realism!" Lol. Still love it though. ;)

  • @ShubbaBANG I liked him best at the beginning, the monochromatic colors seemed to suit him better.

  • 4:07 That just doesn't look right...O_O

  • @RealityIsImBipolar I know what you're thinking. Because I thought the same thing. I wonder if it's done on purpose.

  • I want a lady chair :(

  • LOL the women were his chair. 8D

I like a non-talking Cobbler. :3 I kinda like Princess YumYum's voice from the 1993 version, but, I like how everything is in this so far. <3 FFF, Vinvet just makes it awesome. XD

  • I love the zooming out effect at the beginning. That has to be the best thing I've ever seen in a cartoon.

  • I love the zooming out effect at the beginning. That has to be the best thing I've ever seen in a cartoon.

  • Poor Fido just can't catch a break.

  • well i'll have seen, most anything. When I see a smelly-guy fly~~~!

  • How to get the ruby off the fat guys head... How to get the ruby off the fat guys head...

  • Zig Zag is Jafar's great grandfather lol

  • @yarmamzer Chasing young women since the blue creeper himself. Lol.

  • @yarmamzer That would mean that ZigZag actually reproduced. A terrifying thought. @_@

  • and fat fat! FAAAAAT!!!

  • Palm-frond wings? Seriously? The thief is like Wile E. Coyote without the budget.

  • @leeshajoi

Which is kinda funny, considering he's usually holding 100lbs of gold at any given time.

  • @leeshajoi One of the Thief's animators did a lot of work on Wile E. Coyote.

  • @leeshajoi I think his reputation precedes him at the pawnshop XD

  • 9min - I was expecting Liberty Bell to start playing. XD The hand mountain reminded me of the Monty Python animation.

  • "GIANT BIRDS!"

  • I love the Theif's Chernabog impression :D

  • I love the Thief's whole flying sequence in this. The way it teases the senses of sight and perception is captivating.

  • the thief worlds first and worst air force pilot

  • 8:10 cant help but think about Fantasia due to the music

  • The one-eyes know how to party.

  • The Thief:

    "I am vengeance"

    "I am the night"

    "I am Batman"

  • Is...is his throne made of one eye women?

    That's awesome in some way.

  • 7:41 PALM trees!!

  • Does anybody else think it's wacky how that camel just lost it when the Thief wandered right into the water? I can't get over that part. lol

  • the music was also in the Calvert workprint, but sounds more shynthethized

  • was anyone else thinking about earthworm jim around 8:10

  • 6:00

    Den fantastiske rubin

    That is danish

  • Does anyone know what the song playing in the first forty seconds of the video is?

  • he has people that can bend and contort themselves into pieces of furniture.

    that he can rest on.

    ...that's kind of cool....

  • Fucking camel. lol

  • am i the only one who thought the theif was taking a piss at 4:08 ?

  • @imortal2demon1 so. exciting.

  • @imortal2demon1 Even in the Miramax version, I did! XD

  • @imortal2demon1 You most certainly are not. ; ) That's exactly what I thought!

  • I realize the "Recobbled Cut" was a fan restoration, but is there anyway I can purchase this version. It's the way the film was intended, pure brilliance!

  • @TheCrazyTaxiDriver You get it on torrent. Download and burn.

  • I liked Tac when he had a pale complex

  • One Eye is the shit. you dont joke with him.

    0_<

  • what's the song that plays when the Theif walks past the many signs in various languages?

  • @FierceyKun to introduce the greatest, most exciting, most well built arabian temples yet, The Great Ruby Temple!

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa is that the name of the music?

  • @FierceyKun of course not. i think even the guy who made the cut knows the song, it is probaly from the original Williams workprint, so, it is from the original score. the name i dont know, maybe richard williams knows. he made the film....

  • i noticed a continuity error here.

Yum Yum: Oh Tack, i knew you'd get us here,

Then is cut to the Thief flying and he passes by ,

    Giant Bird! Giant Bird!

notice that they are still climbing the mountain.

it's a continuity problem that i hope Garret will fix in the next cut.

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa next cut?! another 1?! cool!!!

  • Off we go~! Into the wild blue yonder!

    That was brilliant.

  • The thief is awesome.^^

  • One Eye is pimpin'. Those guys sure know their jazz.

  • When he's trying to be silly, Vincent Price's voice sounds awfully cute:3

Thank God he wasn't redubbed for the Mirimax cut. He was pretty much the only saving grace in the whole mess.

  • @AltoCat1 Vincent Price always did have this oddly adorable way about him, even with the creepy roles, lol.

  • Nice Night on Bald Mountain homage 8:21

  • Recent archeological evidence suggests that the Thief was the great-great grandfather of decorated civil war general Wile E. Coyote.

  • One Eye has got to have one of the most badass villain intros evah! The music, the animation, the throne of women, (why cant I have one of those?) and the way it goes from ZigZag's eyes to One Eye's eye. It's just awesome.

  • @TheGreatMrL best Pan-Out shot ever.

  • FAAAAAT!!!

  • The look of the One eyes reminds me of Samurai Jack art.

  • I just love the soundtrack of this movie!!

  • did anyone catch 4:10 XD

  • @LandoftaStupid that part was funny and misleading at the same time

  • I wish I had women furniture.

  • The beginning of the video is so cool, it has a 60s feel to it (and yes I know it began production in the 60s).

  • @Nastradumas Definitely, it reminds me of Yellow Submarine in many places, a very innovative time in animation. :)

  • @NeverDoubt1

I know right! This is very good animation and very detailed.

  • THIEF = CHERNABOG~! HELL YUS

  • 0:10 LOL!! Zig-Zag's face!!!

  • I love the entire movie so far! And I think the laughing camel is really adorable. :) I really need to get this movie on DVD. ^^ Zigzag, FIdo, and the Thief are my favorite characters. :D

  • poor birdy your tail is always catching fire

  • Ah... Night on Bald Mountain. I love that piece <3 . They really made it work to a comedic affect ^_^

  • Does anyone know the score in 4:13-4:28 ?

  • Ai-yah, 1:50 - 2:10 That's some nice animation. D3

  • and no one ever answered the question of all.....

what's the music at the beginning when the King one eye is introduced to zigzag?

  • @GatucaMan i think it makes part of the original score of the film...

  • The scenes are so dark.

    Cobbler's emotions are so cute!

  • One Eye is so badass, he sits on a throne of women!

  • aw man, all through this movie, i adore the score so much!

  • 8:50

    "Hey Buzz! You're flying!"

"This isn't flying! This is falling, with style!"

  • 8:10 Night on Bald Mountain!

    nice touch!

  • 4:55 FAAAT FAAAAAAAAAAT FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!

  • was 8:10 music the music from fantasia?

  • FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is there a name to the piece they play at the very beginning as Zigzag is entering the one eyes tent?

  • Apparently One-Eye's female servants are all big-boobed acrobats.
