yea that was supposed to be a minor aspect of hip hop. obviously we gotta brag sometimes but corporations exploited that aspect and coaxed rappers, who cooperated, into making that part of most of their content...
It's not that they are forgotten. It's that all these wack rappers nowadays can grasp the task of making a decent song. And as they contaminate the airwaves, the good rappers are left for dead in the pit of dispear
pro tools was an excellent album, I think it was probably his best since liquid swords, despite being a bit underproduced. But Maybe I just think its so good because theres nothing great coming out to compare it too.
If you think George Bush is the only politician holding black people down, you got a problem. He really doesn't have anything to do with it. He has no anti-black-empowerment agenda. I think Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are more detrimental to black culture, and they don't even realize it. If someone tells you, "You ancestors were mistreated, therefore you deserve to sit on your ass and collect free money"... they're not trying to help you
The demise dates back in my opinion to the early 90s when acts like Will Smith and MC Hammer came to become corporate figures. They made good music but they kinda sold to the man. Then when the corporates started selling "Hip Hop Clothing" at malls n stuff, something I call "Mall Rap", and they did all this ghetto life 50 cent crap, it disgusts a member of the underground
I heard that 8 Diagrams was a bust. If that is true, than it is very disapointing to me. Either way, I still love The Wu-Tang Clan, and one bad album can't negate all of their great contributions to hip-hop.
anything is open to evolution.its a certain strain that being fed power by the corporations.itll be that way till the corporations are dealt with.

We seem to forget about Kweli, Mos Def, The Roots, Q- Tip. These are all artists who still make good music.

Yeah I've gotten it since that comment. It has a few good tracks, but overall a minor dissapointment.

its not a bad album, its really good. So what if it has like some guitar on some tracks as a back instrument, i dont see the big deal.
