  • What's up with that horrible music? Give your dedicated viewers a break.

  • I have continued to watch this show since I first saw it on KETC St. Louis back in the 80's. I agree with aferretnamedpolo, bring back Arabesque No. 1. Not only did I learn about the stars and planets, but I learned to love Debussy and Tomita. I doubt anybody will be whistling or humming the newer intro song in 35 years.

  • i miss the old somewhat subdued intro with the tomita track. im all for progression, but the combo of star gazer and arabesque no.1 is iconic. Maybe one day it will come back.

  • it's still fun to learn, then show someone and see them smile looking up with a story about the sky. Does not matter the age, my 83 year old Mom or my 23 year old kid seating around a campfire in the woods. I think that's what Jack wanted to show us.

  • Jack talked about this in 2007.

  • Hi Mr. Bensburg,

This is Bill Dishong. I was Jack's partner in producing Star Hustler/Gazer for 35 years.

I appreciate your efforts to defend Jack's memory but he is not under attack.

Jack always considered himself a teller of tales, a Seanchai in the old Irish tradition.

The stories and their effects on the listener were what was most important not the fame of the teller of the tale.

Star Hustler/Gazer always had one over-riding purpose, getting people to go outside, look up at the night sky.

  • @MiamiScienceMuseum Sir I hope to plea with you to savor Jacks memory by somehow changing the intro to this show by somehow including an image of Jack. I watched his show as far back as 1984 and I do believe to not include him in some way in these new segments is doing his legacy an injustice. Thank you.

  • Now this is just insulting. This is Jack's favorite story, and if James's story is to be believed (he has said his interest in astronomy was from Jack), HE heard this at least a dozen times. Now, apparently these two have just discovered it, and they copied Jack's EXACT WORDS, "never seen in an astronomy textbook".

I don't think you guys really want to lose fans of Star Hustler, but it seems you're trying. :(
