Funny, I only didn't agree with the "introduced them to new diseases to which they had NO immunity", how the fuck were people who just found out the world wasn't flat going to interpret a genocidal pandemic... HOWEVER after they started throwing the small pox infected blankets on the reservations on PURPOSE, the argument admittedly becomes void.
Ah well, praise Ghost. Thanks to him we can say the Norwegians at least were accepted by the red skins, the northern ones anyway.

we humanity who haven't began talking on a communal manner until recent decades or we, w/e the fuck you are. Either way its wrong, "we" didn't KNOW the earth was round until the first manned space voyage, until then it was guess work and speculation.
However the south and southern north europeans DID reflect what the bible said as accurate, as did most regions influenced by its cults. Point being it didn't matter what was known in 500 b.c. if no one believed it...

actually, figuring out the earth is round was supposedly what stonehenge was for - something to do with the position of the stars, i don't pretend to understand it. i DO know that you can calculate the circumference of earth by looking at the curve of the horizon though, so it WAS proven before space flight. just saying.

Actually Stonehenge has recently been proven to be nothing more than a burial marker with the discovery of Bluehenge. There are some coincidences that seem to inspire from it but they've really just been speculation without any form of backing.
And to the second remark, I agree there were several methods in pre space flight that can be used to confirm it. But it was the same as guessing whats under a box without lifting it. space flight was when we lifted the box and finally proved it.

even during columus's time they (they as in europeans) knew the earth was round before his maiden voyage. all they had to do is look out to sea as a ship was coming in and they realized that they saw the very top first. so therefore they concluded the earth was round before his voyage.

I guess, but the origin of this holiday isn't about how Jesus gave wealth to a poor town or something. Sure, people can say thank god. That's what saying grace is, right? But I just don't like it when they say that all roots of the holiday stem back to christianity and things like that

I haven't heard anyone say that the roots of this holiday all stem back to Christianity. Sure, Thanksgiving was originally celebrated by those that believed in God and in divine Providence, but this isn't a religious holiday.

Standard of living refers to average life expectancy, child mortality rate, GDP per capita and employment rate.
The fact that taxes are less only profits those who already make a lot of money.
Lower class citizens and the unemployed fare worse in a low tax country.
