I'm so getting this game! A long time ago, I had a Gamecube (any1 remember those?) and with it was The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition. This was my favorite game on it! So when I heard Nintendo was giving it a 3DS re-vamp I knew I had to get the 3DS and this game!!!! :D Who agrees?!?!

does nobody else find it kinda sad that the 3ds killer app is a 12 year old game with improved graphics? And that besides Resident Evil, there is nothing else worth buying for a whole other year! 12 months! Ocarina is a fantastic game, but $300 for a handheld and game, which you'd probably enjoy more on a tv screen, is ridiculous. Just play it in your n64, gamecube or wii. And if you dont have any of those already you can get an n64 online for about $40 with it, plus tons of classics for $10

The framerate is smoother because the N64 had no soundchip and ran the sound engine on it's Main CPU which hit the framerate pretty fuckin hard. 3DS has dedicated sound chip so the CPU does not have waste resources rendering the sound. There is on article still on IGN callled "What wrong with audio on the N64" Google it.

GPU just had the Digital to Analag Convertor while Main CPU preformed the mixing but N64 should have had a audio DSP core so the Main CPU would be free from mixing audio and thus smoother framerates and AI. The original DS had had a slower CPU at 67 MHZ but had dedicated 16 channel audio proccessor to make up for the slower Main CPU.

Well the CPU plus the other bus had to the processing with some graphical effects and doing sound. Which still took a strain on the performance. Hell when my cartridge glitch out on me with Super Mario 64 the game actually run faster without the sound. The same thing with GBA games. SOOO much frame rate drops. Zelda had horrible frames rates along with Banjo Kazio.

@SgtThom N64 was desinged so that one sound chanel eated 1% of the power of the console. More chanels for sound means less power for graphics. But this synergia can be a good thing for more interactive music & sound, plus accurate lip sync as seen on Conkers Bad Fur Day. I think it is good to have sound & visuals tied together. Games you mention had a good framerate considering visual quality and comparing to the other games made on 1998. Most N64 -games have exelent framerate on NTSC -version.
