  • This is Awesome! Reminds me of some squarepusher stuff actually, but this is way beyond that level.

  • @OZRCosmicAntics as much as i appreciate your comment, i've seen squarepusher and he is a phenomenal bass player and my stuff does not hold a candle to his performances. he set the bar pretty high :)

  • looks like jeremy from adtr with long hair

  • sick ass!!!!

  • adult swim music xD

  • Great vid! I'm a drummer/percussionist that's heavily rooted in acoustic drums, having just added some electronics to my acoustic kit. Because of this video, I can see a lot more possibilities for my bass and guitar amps, lol. I like the feedback sound- is that what you're doing when you up the gain on the amp to your left? Great stuff man.

  • @substrate001 thanks!

the synth sounds are coming from the modular to my right, the amp is not feeding back- but it does sound like that ;)

  • mad not-deep bass drum!

  • Creepy mannequins in the back :/

  • eat some dots pacman..!

  • whaaaaaaaaaaat the hell?!?

  • that's a contagious beat!!

  • whats that horrible screeching, its playing its own melody, bass sounds like a water slap, id rather have nothing hooked up than this

  • This guy must write the music to The PPG...

  • @BloodyBlackRose1 the fact that i enjoyed the theme song always made me feel a little dirty

  • its great mate! keep it up!!!

  • awsome

  • what happened to the other half of your set dude?

  • Using a nice ampeg amp for triggers? I want one to amplify my bass >.> :P

  • Sounds different, and kinda cool. One man band LOL...I've heard worse things. And they make money on it at that. F***

  • wicked

  • this is really cool.

  • I did not know that Jesus made of the drum ^^

  • amazing xD

  • cool

  • so that sounds terrible :/

  • @hidragon91 bored much? if you really want to know, just read the comments.

  • what the fuck....triggers xactly do....!!????

    juss tell me this..!!

  • funny . ahaha

  • My name is Aaron too.

    :D

  • fuck triggers

  • @serebruss1 oh yeah? lol

  • I had that drum set... I hated it, so i through it off a cliff.

  • @Imacoold00d BAH DOOM. CRASH

  • Ummmmm, Does your kit come in mens?

  • So a trigger basically just gives the drum an effect?

  • @skategivnkids in this case it's sending a pulse of electricity to the modular synth every time it's hit. you can do many things with that pulse- in this example it's stepping a sequencer forward and triggering an envelope module.

  • @analogueak And how do you set this up? cause I would love to play with something like this!

  • @RawGreenTheAnimator i got some roland piezo drum triggers for a few bucks each and taped them to my drum heads (any surface you hit could work) then the signal from the trigger was connected to an input that can convert that "pulse" of energy in to something that the doepfer can use (gate signal) to cause any number of events to happen (in this case, sequencer stepping, and envelope triggering).

  • @skategivnkids Not entirely. Triggers are used mainly for metal concerts so you can here the bass drums or bass drum b/c it's so loud, but they can be used like in this video, which I find pretty cool! :)

  • Love the shirt! :D

My friend has one that has a 1up mushroom on it from Super Mario Bros and it says "I don't need to get a life. I have many lives." :P

  • @Xxstarry10xX video games influenced me quite a lot- the music in early nintendo games still reverberates in my mind

  • I didn't know that Jesus played the drums.

  • @chrislikesfemales my name is aaron :)

  • pretty cool

  • what type of music is this?!?

  • @xXAlecXxC it's not. it's just an example.

  • @analogueak well thats an awesome sounding example song

  • stoner much?!

  • That was dumb in my opinion.... Not something I'd use.

  • @mattmorron what would you use?

  • nice socks bro

  • @TheWestonMcRae i wear socks

  • i thought this would be death metal :((((((

  • @CadePDrumstiX because "triggering" was in the title?

There seems to be a misconception about bass drum clickers being called triggers?

  • @analogueak Triggers are also used in metal. they send signal to a drum module that has professional- sounding kicks and toms. then sound goes to PA.

  • @CadePDrumstiX dude that was death metal

  • Does the sound come out of the amp? If so, for kick drum triggers, do you recommend a bass amp or any amp really?

  • @HandPeopleHandPeople yeah, from an amp or loudspeaker it can have enough volume to blend with the drums- it could come from any source though; Sometimes I'll just have headphones on.

  • @analogueak So just for triggering the kick drum, any loud amp would be fine, bass amp or not?

  • @HandPeopleHandPeople it depends on the sound that you are using the trigger for. Keyboard amps have a good full range usually.

  • @analogueak Metal type stuff, of course. I use the heel toe method and it's not really possible to get a lot of power out of that so it's hard to hear. That's what I want triggers for and I'm thinking a bass amp would be the best bet.

  • @HandPeopleHandPeople- are you talking about the little plastic/metal stickers that people put on the drumhead/pedal mallet? Do you mic your drums?

  • @analogueak No I mean putting triggers on your kick drum only. No I don't have mics on my kick or any drum for that matter.

  • @HandPeopleHandPeople I guess it's an issue of what's practical for you: 1. To get more volume from your bass drum, you could mic it and run it to the PA system with the EQ enhancing the low frequencies.

    2. To get a synth or computer to make a bass drum sound when you hit your bass drum, attach a trigger to the drum, then run the trigger to your "drum brain" or a device that has a trigger input, then run the device's output to the PA system or amplifier.

  • @analogueak What type of amp would be the best choice? I hear keyboard amps are good for it, but idk.

  • @HandPeopleHandPeople Mackey makes some nice speakers for a good price- a full range speaker could be used for more than just your bass drum, but a bass amp from Ampeg is really good too :)

  • @analogueak Thanks dude, I'm really quite new to the whole triggering thing and I don't want to mess up early. :P

  • pointless

  • Well I wish I could Afford Triggers for my drums. I have went though 2 Tama bass drums and I cannot get it to sound like my other one -which has a lower octave naturally- with any amount of tuning or heads. I don't really care for double bass pedals so this would cure that.

  • nice shirt :)

  • @nastymonster flattery will get you everywhere - *smooch*

  • sounds like a aphex twin song

  • this should s like somethig from adult swim commercials

  • u're a master! the good music is not only maked with big drumsets :P

  • Kick ass fan! if thats what it is (:

  • I dont get triggers, when I play shows all i need to do is mic my real kit and im good i understand triggers for electronic drums so when you hit it, it sounds the same each time but i dont know it doesnt make sense to me most drummers dont use triggers on their real kit like likin parks drummer etc all they do is mic their kit to me triggers are useless

  • @heckawesomefunnydude yes you don't get triggers. sorry.

  • DnB + u + whip-it's = AMAZING

  • the lil pacman characters on your shirt compliment the tones being played with your trigger stuff... idk

  • Sorry dude but I don't get what's going on in your vidéo.

You triggered something to your kick so it makes a different sound each time you hit it to have a Electronic thing going with your drums ?

  • lol i know this isnt supposed to be musical but its music to my ears lol i would buy an album of this over most of the ones out there i love the drumming man and your set up just adds to it

  • please burn that kit...please.

  • A pearl rhythm traveller... I have one of them... when I recently got my second bass drum I took some toms from it and a snare and added them to my kit.

  • Woah very nice! Triggers are fun to use:D

  • I <3 Your SHirt

  • That is a shitty drum set bro. You gotta invest in buying a new one.

  • OOoooh!! LOOK!! JESUS CAN PLAY THE DRUMME and well! LOOOL

  • I like the sound of that ride cymbal

  • I like the sound of that ride cymbal

  • fuckin awesome dude

  • This gives me very good ideas overall. I always thought triggers were limited only to be used as (more or less) drum tone replacement modules. But I'm assume you can really use them to trigger samples, sequences, etc. to become a one man band. This makes me want to learn drums more.

  • Correcting what xXLIVE4THEMOMENTXx1 said, don't anybody ever listen to Suicide Silence.

  • this guy looks like the type of guy who would play this kind of music

  • @webbtje

youre an idiot...the video title tells you that hes using triggers so why would you point that out like you made a magical discovery?

  • that is possibly the smallest bass drum i have ever seen in my life

  • cool style

  • listen to the band suicide silence. he dosnt use triggers. yeah hes that good. good drumming man

  • Bullshit.

    A: His kicks are triggered.

B: He is severely average. Not very fast, not very innovative.

  • You don't have to be fast to be a good drummer that is a modern age stereotype and is complete BS.

  • Aphex Twin anybody?

  • @MrBIueSky

    haha amen brother. good ear

  • @MrBIueSky dude that guys is a fucking trip i was on shrooms and my brother put the come to daddy music video on and man i started crying and everything :OOO

  • @MrBIueSky whatever.

  • what is that amp off to the left? i cant see the logo of it well

  • i was plugged in to an ampeg

  • argh it gets a bit enoying after a bit man lol i get the concept of the idea tho kinda inventive i suppose. ur neighbours must love you so much lol

  • i actually think the little bass box looks cool lol..

  • no offence, but the kit sucks.

and you need to get more into it,

    but the drumming is good

  • i agree, and thank you for being critical in a constructive way (i know it sounds sarcastic but i mean it)

  • actually i have the same kit and it's actually extremely good. its built so that the shells are extra thin for easy traveling and the only problem that i could find with it was that the cymbals that it comes with are not very durable, but that can easily be fixed by buying new ones. (also something i haven't done yet is buy a ride cymbal.) i think the set looks better if it was set up differently, and also probably sounds better if it was muffled and tuned correctly.

  • yeah, this wasn't about sound quality or art, it is just an example of what I was doing back then

  • thats pretty cool.

  • Isn't that a Rhythm traveller kit?

  • thats pretty awsome :D

  • buena idea, gracias por compartirla

  • A friend of mine has a Space Invaders shirt.

  • Cool!

  • nice shirt XD!!

  • wow that is a skinny bass drum

  • I thought I was listening too aphex twin for most of this :D

  • wtf nintendocore?

  • not knowingly-

grew up on video games though

  • check the fuckin sirt hes wearing, thats pacman, not nintendo, pacmancore.

  • Namcocore

  • yes that would apply aswell.

  • any good drummer could please awser my question which i posted as a video?( about bassdrum and triggers. just go to my profile to view it thanks its really appreciated!

  • Oh Hell ! Ha Ha HA LOL

  • haha, nice! musics hahaha :D soo good!

  • i got a semi right now, that shit was sick

  • really cool !!!! your drum kit is awesome

  • Much respect

  • what a waste of video... piece of shit don!!!!!

  • what do you use as drum trigger?

  • old roland acoustic trigger - (it's actually just a piezo disc in a plastic case with a metal foot) i'm working on some homemade ones because they're really cheap

  • this is the phattest shit ive seen on youtube. Post more please.

  • niceee bro

  • nice!!

  • awesome :D

  • Dude! Make it stop!

  • Pearl cymbals LMFAO

  • @bubbasock Not everyone's rich kid..

  • cooool dude!

  • what genre of music would your style of drumming fall into or be categorized??? i absolutely love it!! :)

  • post techno

  • Drum&Bass

  • cheesy DnB lol

  • Great man !

  • Pearl travelers set fail

  • the beautiful sound of an open hi hat ¡¡¡¡¡

  • he looks like Ben Affleck

  • lmao stfu

  • hahaha u r so fuckin funny..!!!

  • big, man

    it's just yeah!

  • Big bosta!

    kkkkk

  • Question, can I use drum triggers plugged directly into my mixer, and than into my computer VIA firewire and use software such as drum superior 2.0 to mix tracks? Or will I still need a drum module pre-mixer?

  • hello...very sick and i like it....how did you get those backfone sound? explain me plz ;)

  • ur a fucking idiot

  • that bass drum is so tiny haha. sweeeet

  • Is that the Pearl Traveler?

  • yessir- it is my first and only kit-

  • BIG SET

  • Badass why don't they use triggers like this?

  • thats awesome... whats the thing that looks like a jet engine on the left?

  • haha, i didn't really notice that until you mentioned it. it does sorta look like it's in my setup. but it's a old-ass fan- fucking dangerous but heavy duty.

  • so.. does like the sound that the trigger makes change or what?????

does it stay on the same settings ???

  • the trigger just makes a spike of voltage (the up and down motion of the vibration gets picked up by the transducer- the piezo pickup)

so, i'm using it kinda as an on/off switch for my synth + it makes the sequencer move forwards.

  • Great drumming, too.

  • Wow!!!

  • hell yeah man..souns rad, live dnb.

  • whats those wierd noises? im soo counfused!!

  • that's the neighbor's cat.

  • woah, the next chad smith?

  • damn.

that really reminded me of drum and bassssss.

    haha

  • Great shit man, really enjoyed it. You have been favorited :)

One thing though, you should get new cymbals, I love Pearl they make amazing drums but they make horrible cymbals :(

  • flub

im not really a drummer, so cymbals are not too important to me- but yeah- they sound doo doo

i think i'll eventually have some ok ones

  • Do you just use a standard Bass Drum Trigger? Then connect it to the module.

  • i use a roland trigger

  • May I ask which series?

  • i think it's the RS-5-

i've seen "pintech acoustic drum triggers" for 20 bucks that look just like it. I don't think roland makes them as "Roland" anymore but i'm going to get a "Pulse TK-5 set" soon because they are cheap and delicious.

  • Awesome man. I want to do some of the Durracell type stuff.

  • nice effects

  • Sorry this is scary if u read this far u will die in 10 days if u dont send to any 15 videos in 2 hours good luck hope u dont die sorry read too far.
