Paladine71 the willy's jeep used in WWII is the reason we have the H1 and I owned an '89 Jeep Cherokee and ran it on a dirt bike course and it held up I rolled it and it wasn't even phased so all in all I like jeep and would buy another one but the H1 hummer is a little better than the jeep in that is will go on more experenced courses and steeper hills deeper water stuff like that the Jeep is a predasessor to the Hummer

I'm a jeep guy, love rubicons and considering an H3 as my next ride. How do they compare with jeeps you run with? I know from experience jeeps are light and easy to pull out if your stuck most times. With the weight of the H3 do have issues in sand or mud? Can a jeep pull you out if your stuck or do you need something heavier? I want something a little more refined than a jeep for the wifey and I, guess I'm getting too old!

nice video -- don't worry about getting stuck from time to time....if you never get stuck, you aren't pushing it enough!! I got mine stuck the first winter I had it (crappy OEM wrangler RTS tires) -- I put some bridgestone REVOs on it and it goes well thru snow and mud. I really liked the v-ditch part and the end. Fun vehicles to drive! People love to hate -- I just don't listen to them. Keep having fun!

The H2 is a lot heavier and isn't as good as the H3 is on sand and mud because of the weight. Also the H3 is a lot easier to maneuver arounf tight trails and two tracks.

I had the 5 cylinder (Not Alpha) H3 and it would average 22 mpg on the highway driving 70 mph. Everyone assumes they get bad gas mileage but they are actually better than most SUVs on the road. The H2 well thats a different story.
@HummerH3Driver I thought the same thing when I got my H3 and it didn't get so bad of MPG like everybody says. It gets more mileage than my Jeep actually. Should I risk going off the road with only one car? It seems fun but like a bad idea...
There are much better midsized, truck-based SUVs on the market. The H3 is basically a dressed up GMC Canyon chassis. While its pretty capable off road, they aren't built to last- just like most domestic vehicles. Have a look at the Japanese SUVs, they are built better, tougher and some like the FJ Cruiser and XTerra are just as capable as the H3 but built to last.
@matthewjoyce16 I went off roading with an FJ Cruiser, They SUCK! I had to pull him 3km down a trail once through mud, up hills because it just couldnt hang with us. We don't even invite him out anymore because its a waste of time!
I've own my H3 for a year now and love it. The gas mileage isn't as bad as one might think. I've owned a Toyota Landcruiser and full-sized Mitsubishi Montero and this is definitely my favorite.

Also It has been proven that a Prius being made, driven, and disposed of will pollute the Earth more than making, driving, and disposing of a Hummer H1, 2, or 3. So just a little food for thought. One more thing though global warming is fake. If I remember correctly scientists said trees love carbon dioxide so I just consider driving to be feeding them.
I agree that they may be pricey brand new but you can honestly get an 2006 model with like 40000 miles on it for $17000 thats not a bad deal if your into them. Just about anybody can afford one

The Ford Raptor is an awesome truck, however, saying it would kill a Hummer is far from true with the exception of dunes. I hate driving our Hummers in the sand, they're heavy and are dogs in the sand, sand is what the Raptor was made to drive on, put the Raptor behind a Hummer through mud and rocks and the Raptor wouldn't do so well. Really? I'm not rich and I have a Luxury Edition sitting on the drive way covered in mud. A vehicle that costs $45,000 for the nicest model is not one that targets the wealthy. It's built for middle class people. And used ones with relatively low miles and lots of options will only set you back about $20,000 to $25,000. Hardly a rich mans vehicle, even though rich folks probably still buy them for their utility.
1/10 the fun too unless you go aftermarket with them. Jeeps are nice, but I'd have to stay on the hummer side of the arguement. the important thing is Four Wheel Drive. thats what letes you have fun.
I disagree with ya, the hummer's weigh WAY to much to do much of anything offroad worth bragging about. and the bill to fix a stock jeep is a lot more fun then that of a hummers. yeah you might have to do some after market things to it to get it to go more places but at least us jeepers have after market shit to buy. I could buy EVERYTHING on the market of my TJ and XJ and be in less debt than if i bought a stock hummer from a dealer. Case closed =P
Jeeps and HUMMERS are both nice I think. I just like the HUMMER better. I'm a single parent and a Jeep just isn't practicle. There isn't enough room in them. I've done the same off roading my cousin does in his modified Jeep and I can't tell any difference in their performace. As for the cost, Jeeps are just as much depending on what model you get. like you said, you do have to aftermarket them to have the kind of fun you really want to. You can get accessories for the HUMEMRS from Trailwerks.

@TheBAKERsk8er14 just gear the hummer low and you can rock crawl like theres no tomorrow, i do it all the time as well as water crossings, and i've had to pull more then my fair share of rubicons/ saharas outta mud, up high grades, and even out of a few holes. with there underpowered engines your lucky to get 135 whp in an unmodded one but i took my 08 rubicon, lifted it 4 inches, put 43's on it, geared it down to i think 5.43, and put a hemi in it, got about 23k for the mods but its still good.

nice video -- don't worry about getting stuck from time to time....if you never get stuck, you aren't pushing it enough!! I got mine stuck the first winter I had it (crappy OEM wrangler RTS tires) -- I put some bridgestone REVOs on it and it goes well thru snow and mud. I really liked the v-ditch part and the end. Fun vehicles to drive! People love to hate -- I just don't listen to them. Keep having fun!

The H2 is a lot heavier and isn't as good as the H3 is on sand and mud because of the weight. Also the H3 is a lot easier to maneuver arounf tight trails and two tracks.

I had the 5 cylinder (Not Alpha) H3 and it would average 22 mpg on the highway driving 70 mph. Everyone assumes they get bad gas mileage but they are actually better than most SUVs on the road. The H2 well thats a different story.

There are much better midsized, truck-based SUVs on the market. The H3 is basically a dressed up GMC Canyon chassis. While its pretty capable off road, they aren't built to last- just like most domestic vehicles. Have a look at the Japanese SUVs, they are built better, tougher and some like the FJ Cruiser and XTerra are just as capable as the H3 but built to last.

I've own my H3 for a year now and love it. The gas mileage isn't as bad as one might think. I've owned a Toyota Landcruiser and full-sized Mitsubishi Montero and this is definitely my favorite.

The H3 get the average gas mileage for mid-size SUVs which is in the high teens and low twenties. Also It has been proven that a Prius being made, driven, and disposed of will pollute the Earth more than making, driving, and disposing of a Hummer H1, 2, or 3. So just a little food for thought. One more thing though global warming is fake. If I remember correctly scientists said trees love carbon dioxide so I just consider driving to be feeding them.

The Ford Raptor is an awesome truck, however, saying it would kill a Hummer is far from true with the exception of dunes. I hate driving our Hummers in the sand, they're heavy and are dogs in the sand, sand is what the Raptor was made to drive on, put the Raptor behind a Hummer through mud and rocks and the Raptor wouldn't do so well. Great video!

Really? I'm not rich and I have a Luxury Edition sitting on the drive way covered in mud. A vehicle that costs $45,000 for the nicest model is not one that targets the wealthy. It's built for middle class people. And used ones with relatively low miles and lots of options will only set you back about $20,000 to $25,000. Hardly a rich mans vehicle, even though rich folks probably still buy them for their utility.

I disagree with ya, the hummer's weigh WAY to much to do much of anything offroad worth bragging about. and the bill to fix a stock jeep is a lot more fun then that of a hummers. yeah you might have to do some after market things to it to get it to go more places but at least us jeepers have after market shit to buy. I could buy EVERYTHING on the market of my TJ and XJ and be in less debt than if i bought a stock hummer from a dealer. Case closed =P

Jeeps and HUMMERS are both nice I think. I just like the HUMMER better. I'm a single parent and a Jeep just isn't practicle. There isn't enough room in them. I've done the same off roading my cousin does in his modified Jeep and I can't tell any difference in their performace. As for the cost, Jeeps are just as much depending on what model you get. like you said, you do have to aftermarket them to have the kind of fun you really want to. You can get accessories for the HUMEMRS from Trailwerks.

And pulling power is only good for towing your jeep on a trailer to its next destination =P Jeeps were built for articulation and departure angles not power. You can put 5.13 gears in a samurai with a 1.8 liter engine and it could out crawl your "Monstrous V8" any day. Certain vehicles are made for certain things. Thats why you dont see a prius street racing or a Ford F-150 rock crawling. Just towing rock crawlers =P
