I'm so sad that you feel like this, Twy. I know it feels like the problem is food, but that's the eating disorder talking. Because of whatever you're dealing with inside, you're projecting that pain and associating it with food, even though food is not the problem. I self-medicate with food, too, and I binge, and I have purged, and I have fasted, too. But the issue isn't food here. CBT helped me with my bipolar and some of my food issues, and I think it could help you too.

Ask about getting CBT instead of medication. I'm so sorry you feel like this. You know you have a purpose though, and the same sensitivity that makes you depressed also makes you the very creative person you are. You can take control of your life again. Control over food is not the same thing, it's like cleaning out a drawer but leaving the rest of the room a mess. Change what you can, and even if you're not religious pray about what to do to change the things you feel you can't change alone xxx
I totally feel like you in that point that I'm meant to live (& like you I'm not gonna change anything about this!), but I don't know what for and it's often really not that fun to put it mildly. It seems like living for figuring things out, for realizations, which is good but.. imo we have to do it ourselves and therapists are often very arrogant in thinking they can help others to find _their_ way.

I loved all your Christmas presents for your son, and really hope you can stay in touch with him in some way, it's so hard for kids to know how much the parent loves them when they aren't told & (it seems your sister doesn't value you alll that much) the people they constantly live with don't communicate it or even the opposite.
