Psalms, Paul's Epistles, Ecclesiastes and such aren't fiction, they are songs, proverbs and essays, while stories like the Book of Job weren't meant to be "historical" in any way. I wish I had filmed what I did at Powells Book Store in Oregon a few months back, now.
I went to the Christian section, and over the course of 20 minutes managed to smuggle every single bible I could find into the Sci fi/Fiction section. I hid them all as far back as I could. I came back 2 weeks later, and they had still not been found ^_^ A stupid ass christian even stood there swearing like a fucking sailor cause there were no bibles to rot his mind with.

Actually, Felix, my friend and I did this about five years ago at a Barnes and Noble and we were escorted out. We proceeded to move as many bibles into the fiction section as possible. As we reached the door, a security guard was there and a woman asked him to make sure we didn't come back. His answer to her was, "M'am, I don't work here." It was pretty grand.

I commented on this video to say that what the people in the video did was wrong. I'm right about that, and you know it. It's offensive, it probably wasn't appreciated by the bookstore, and it's also just mean. There have been good and bad people who do things in the name of their religion, but there have been good and bad people who did things in the name of science.

People have used religion as a method to get their own message out their, like the message that women are subservient to men, but those people are using loopholes in religion to their own advantage.
It's perfectly okay to do that. Certainly a lot less confrontational and hateful than the average religious person's reaction to things. It's not bombing a clinic, or shooting a doctor or starting some war over doctrinal differences (ask Europe about that).
I can't quite remember what we moved exactly because this was done so long ago, but I personally don't poke at any religion. I just found it funny to move the Bible or any holy book to the fiction section because that's what I believe.
I think everyone has their entitlement to believe in what they want. This video wasn't specifically towards Christianity or towards any religion. It was simply a statement (for me) that I do not believe. :)

religion relies on nothing but belief and faith(which are nearly the same thing) and nothing else. No coherent evidence nor live evidence to prove it exept ones belief. So is it fiction when millions of people believe in it? yes and no. Religion is a side of fantasy in which we want to believe and hope its true. well you see. thats all we can base it on. some people believe dragons and elves are real. and yet those fit in fiction/fantasy. so beliefs is really self opinion in what you think is real or fake. true or fiction. the only reason book stores dont do this because the church would go ballistic. if there was no chruch and the bible was written by stephen king....it would probably be in fiction. but since the bible is historical in its own manner. it fits diffrently

Second of all, the 'explanation' for my lack of belief would never be the big bang. My explanation is simple, there's no reason to believe, you have absolutely no evidence or anything supporting the existence of your god. It would make equal sense for me to believe in Zeus or any other deity. You hold the burden of proof, not us.

You precisely validate my point unsurprisingly. First of all, being an Atheist does not mean you believe in the Big Bang, just though I'd clarify that. All it is, is A-Theism, Theism means belief in God, Atheism is disbelief in God, and that's all it is. Second, the point you attempt to make has a very apparent large flaw in it, and it's far over-used. If you believe it's impossible for something to come from nothing, and there had to be a creator. Then what created God? Exactly.

I commented on this video to say that what the people in the video did was wrong. I'm right about that, and you know it. It's offensive, it probably wasn't appreciated by the bookstore, and it's also just mean. But because atheists seem so keen to try and hurt peoples' beliefs at every chance they get, I got pulled in to this debate. There have been good and bad people who do things in the name of their religion, but there have been good and bad people who did things in the name of science.

Personally, I think women are equal to men, and have even been involved in several movements to have boys and girls sports teams at several schools merged into a single group. People have used religion as a method to get their own message out their, like the message that women are subservient to men, but those people are using loopholes in religion to their own advantage.

I can't quite remember what we moved exactly because this was done so long ago, but I personally don't poke at any religion. I just found it funny to move the Bible or any holy book to the fiction section because that's what I believe.
I think everyone has their entitlement to believe in what they want. This video wasn't specifically towards Christianity or towards any religion. It was simply a statement (for me) that I do not believe. :)
