Jeannette, all I can say is wow. She fully captures the emotion of this song. When she sings, "lovin' who i really am!", it makes me tear up. He voice has such power and tone. I can listen to this performance over and over again without getting bored. She is by FAR the best Celie, and maybe the best color purple cast member there has been. Fantasia does not even compare. Fantasia is GREAT, but Jeannette is indescribable. When she sings, "with all the love alive in me," it is just beautiful.

I saw her in San Francisco and got the same performance that let me speechless. Simply incredible....She didn't back down from any of those notes, but stepped up to them.

Fantasia already had a fan base and people knew her struggle which contributes to her huge reception in this role, and nothing against her, but there is simply no comparison with Jeannette. I'm glad I saw this performance.
