We only dropped 3 Mentos into the bottle. I'm sure it would have gone higher if we used more. If we did it over again, we would roll up a piece of paper to form a tube, block the bottom, then we would put 5 or 6 of them in there. Holding the tube over the bottle, we would open the bottom of the tube so they all drop in at the same time. This should make for a better show.
NEW NEWS! My wife found Mentos that comes with its own tube as long as the pack! You can essentially load the entire pack of Mentos into this tube to create your own geyser. There are small holes in one end to stick a toothpick in. When you remove the toothpick, they all fall into the bottle.
Does anyone know what happens if you put a lid on after you put the mentos in..? if anything of course?

you put the dry ice in an empty bottle then poor water in it and put the lid on quickly and run fast.

ive done it, use a regular sized bottle, not 2 litre
fill it a quarter way with water, and drop a few chunks of dry ice in, put on the top, and run, if done right it will explode
