Finding answers in Christian textbooks or books, or commentaries can easily answer many questions people have. And you are right that it is somewhat of a cop-out, personally I know the answers. But what good am I if all I do is spew out answers and people don't seek for themselves? You have to study things to understand, with science, and with God.

If you look at scriptures superficially you will find it hard to understand stories. Just like if I where to pull out a science textbook and read over some random chapter. The Bible claims that the Earth is 6000 years old, that there was a global flood (even though there's simply not enough water in the Earth's hydrosphere to make that possible.) And that someone was turned into salt (I shouldn't even have to explain why that's impossible.)
