I see that your on a mac, but it says that you can't configure the setting on your mac. But if you are in a game > settings > controls > and then click one of the thing for example 'crouch', and press one of the side buttons, will your mac understad that then?

I had an optical version of this mouse and had it replaced for a MX518 cause i couldn't lift the mouse. Sides were too slippery, the rubber grip is too hard. But i gotta say it has THE most precise optics out there which can beat several laser mice i had.

@skaterobban The difference is the light used. Optical mice have less DPI than Laser mice counterparts. But it is cheaper. I use an Optical mouse for gaming because I find the DPI to be just right. I use a Laser mouse for photo editing because I can take advantage of the higher DPI for accurate painting.

G9xXx laser isnt very good for fast fps games such as CS... optical is better for that.. now to your question.. if u got big hands get Ikari if u got medium sized hands get deathadder..but I had to return the deathadder cuz it was a bit too short for my hand.. my fingers are long so.. just go to a store maybe "MediaMarkt" if u got it in your country they got Ikari and deathader there for u to feel them! :P

I love Steel series, but imo im still waiting for a better mouse from them. I love the way this mouse fits in your hand, but its lack of programmable buttons for me is an issue. It would be great if they added another button next to the sensitivity one, and made them both mappable. As well as placed a button for your ring finger/pinky to control. And the side flick that logitech mice have on their scroll wheels. This mouse is great for FPS, but not games that demand a large array of buttons.

lowest cpi is 1, you can ahve 100% perfect setting as it can go: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and so on, from 1 to 3200 and a perfectly optimized setting for you

I use the Ikari laser and I am vary happy with it. I wasn`t quite comfortable by gripping it at first but after 2-3 days i loved it.

It is extremly comfortable with palm grip. You can use fingertip and claw grip as well.

I looked at pictures of the deathadder to see how the shape was. My conclusion is that the ikari is best because it gives best support to your hand.

I want to buy mouse for RTS game Warcraft 3. I'm thinking about Razer DeathAdder. Comparing DA to Ikari Laser and Optical which one do you think would be the best choice? Is there a big difference between Optical and Laser that's worth paying more money for Laser?

It all depends on your preference for sensitivity. If you use mid to high sens, typically the laser is better suited because of its 2000-3200 or 4000 cpi ability, but in some cases will skip or lose samples (negative acceleration) with low sens. The optical is better suited for low sens but is limited to 1800 (or is there a 2400?) cpi. Not to say 1800 is not sufficient for high sens because I still think it's more than enough, but it's something worth considering.

Also keep in mind there is more that separates the Ikari models than sensor type. The laser sports an important feature they call Freemove which lets the user control the amount of prediction for straight line interpolation and since prediction always take a bit of calculation, this reduces precision. This feature alone contributes to the praises for the Ikari Laser's precision over other mice. Expect all future gaming mice to have it come disabled for with user control like the Ikari Laser.

if your a rts gamer go with mouse with macro, and there is huge difference between laser and optic, the optic is has lower sens and you will need a mouse pad to get the most out of it, the laser has high sens but i have not tried it yet (the ikari optic gets a little hot after long hours) :>
