Great! I bought the picture disc of this when it came out and put it directly to tape. This song, especially the last minute, just rips me up and makes my hairs stand on end. Breathtaking. It's got it all.
Too bad Bonnet left but if you can find it check out BBC LIVE where Gary Barden comes back with like 2 days rehearsal and they headlined after this album at Donnington? They had to play some of Assault Attack live.Killer grooves.

Haven't heard this in years, forgotten just how good it was. Got the album on cassette tape somewhere must dig it out. That and see if I can find a player to play it on!!!!!
I love this song, and I believe that the solo is one of the finest constructed solos ever recorded, just listen to the ease with which he slips back and forth between mixolydian (classical shred) and old school pentatonic (think blues). What a Teutonic bastard! As an added bonus, the vamp at the end blows my mind with just 2 chords, F# major and E major, he uses a slide and blows a very cool melody, showing that while he shreds he breaks your heart.
man, fuckin' GREAT 80's Heavy Metal! I'll agree with some here, that this was MSG's best album. Throaty vocals from hell, like chasin a bottle of steroids with a fifth of Jack, awesome job by Graham! Who else was there with a performance like this back in the day--maybe Brian Johnson, or Ian Gillan with Black Sabbath? Thanks for posting!
probably my favorite SCHENKER album.....great songs, great vocals by Graham..and great guitar tone. Thx for sharing the rare pics....never seen those before. I have an autographed album sleeve of this record that Schenker signed in 2000.
that was a nasty solo!

@mikemonti66 I'm not "mistaking" anything. I just said it "sounds a little like".
