As you know, as of yesterday Polanski is now a free man. Unbelievable. And there are so many people who say things like, ``Oh, its been so many years, give him a break.`` Whoa -- maybe if he didn`t run away from the law over thirty years ago we still would not be talking about it. I loved Jack Webb's shows. Dragnet and Adam-12. The first few seasons of Law & Order could had the same style of focusing on the criminals and not the main cast of characters. I can only guess that the writers where trying to emulate what a "Jack Webb" style of show about the judicial system would have been like. I tried to watch an episode every now and then of the newer L&O spinoffs, but sometimes they get too envolved with the main cast charaters problems.
