Cool idea. My sister just had her hip replaced in Costa Rica for about 1/5 the cost in her hometown in Texas. She said the hospitals and staff was superior to US care!

As Americans we have the notion that the United States has the best health care and countries like Costa Rica are certainly putting this notion to the test.
All the staff at the hospitals we work with in Costa Rica are English speaking, friendly and very accommodating. Plus they have some technology that makes our hospitals look dated!

Thank you for this informative video response to your high deductible health plan video. I have heard of medical tourism or medical travel but it was mainly for individuals and I was unaware employers were beginning to do this. Domestic medical travel makes a lot of sense. I can't believe the cost differences! They are so substantial!

Medical tourism began with cosmetic surgery performed abroad. Traditionally it was for the uninsured and under-insured; however, recently many large corporations have begun realizing the potential for cost savings. Thank you for your comment!
