BUT! it was prerendered based off the graphical abilities of the ps3.

you see now that we've settled down and people know how to program for it, this type of graphics are very possible for the ps3

the ultimate limiting factor is the programers and what they are willing to create.

if everyone had unlimited resources, they would probably use the best physics and the best vehicles they had in their games, but they dont.

(cont.) when the helghast hangs over the rail, then falls, that would never happen in game, and the camera moves way differently then it does in the normal game...

It is possible for the character rig of the helghast falling over the rail to accicentally "get stuck" in collision objects and dangle over the edge like that in real-time. It is most likely scripted to happen though, they did not run this over and over to get that to happen. The whole thing is scripted as in pre-render, but then rendered in-game with the real-time engine. So yes AND no ... it was a real-time engine but scripted and pre-rendered with that engine.

oh wow people. This is pre-rendered of course but the actual game still has the best graphics of any FPS made so far. It has better graphics than MGS4, R2, Gears 2, Halo 3, etc. etc. Everyone knew they cudnt do now but the new games to hit PS3 will be graphical gold mines considering the pwr of PS3. Killzone 2 is still the best looking game so far this gen. even if it didnt meet the 05 trailer standards. It came closer then anyone wud ever think it could.

Prerendered? How do you know? I actually watched this trailer long time ago but I wasn't "shocked" by its graphics. And also: if people say that it isn't an actual gameplay, it soesn't mean that game engine CAN'T render it! So that is that!

I agree with you to some point, but the fire fxs and bullet strikes are kinda dated. The thing with this vid is it's actually a tech demo worked under the PS3 limitations, they were showcasing what they were capable of doing with KZ2 in Sony's machine not in terms of gameplay but graphics and animation. They did the same thing with the Bullet trailer, a pre rendered vid showcasing not the gameplay but all the nifty fxs they could pull with the PS3.
