  • nice swift cuts!

    I like it

  • keep practicing, never mind what the other say. no one was born with the knowledge of cutting, you must practice a lot to improve. there are a lot of videos on the internet, try consulting them, if you don't have a sensei in your neighborhood. a little tip: start with body posture and footwork. if your body posture is correct before, during and after cutting the cutting itself comes natural and feels (and looks) better.

  • You guys should seriously take down this video.

  • you have no idea how to use this properly, you're gonna hurt yourself or someone else.

    smeriously.

    please be safe

  • fuck that try cut the steel legs from the table i wanna see the damage on the blade before i spend my 200.

  • dude you are totally retarded, put down the sword before you hurt yourself.

  • me want sword

  • hands 2 close together m8 you cant get the push-pull action to get the most out of the blade.....mischanan93 was right, baseball bats are about £180 cheaper!!!

  • Hands are not too close together. Granted, it's a longer tsuka, I have one myself. But traditional tsuka were much, much shorter, and the cutting method in many Japanese schools rely on the lower hand for most of the power. The hands twist inward as you cut, and the blade arcs up and out, down and in. In order to do this you can't have your hands too far *apart*, or you'll have to use a different cutting technique altogether. Not saying he cuts in this way, just saying that it's not too close.

  • i know its wrong to complain about it, but it kinda looks like your playing baseball :/ sorry man, i just had to get it out.

  • If you know it is wrong, then why complain?

  • Because he is right. Get proper training insted of swiging blade like a ninja.

  • @swordsofmight constructive criticism, or just to make u feel bad lol

  • is there a hada?

  • is the Hammon real

  • Yes

  • how much?

  • I'm looking for a traditonal ,functional and economical sword, does this fit that discription?

  • why is ever1 telling him to learn this do that, how about u lick my backyard and fucking make a vid "showing how to do this and that", fricken stfu... wtf.... "work on your techniques" u dont like it then leave the page and watch whatever u like from there.

  • hell yea man seriously people you should back off this guy. the point of this video is just to show the SWORD not his cutting TECHNIQUE so if you guys want to criticize something, criticize the sword not the person but the person who commented on the twisted wrist thing was somewhat helpful as that would be detrimental to the wielder ( the dude in this vid)

  • We barly see the sword. And with such poor cut we cant tell if the sword is dull or sharp.

This video isent a blade review, it jsut a kid showing off his new toy.

  • But if it Is, I could barely see the Sword, only his nonexistent cutting technique, which looks like mischanan93 said: Playing baseball, sorry but you just failed.

  • what is the music called? thanks!

  • Check out the book by Draeger 'Japanese Swordsmanship' and please learn how to hold the katana correctly.

  • Yes, thank you for the sword lesson.

  • You should listen to him....your heading in the right direction for a sprained wrist if you continue to cut like that without formal training. If you have had training....what style did you do? and at what Dojo?

  • I have never been trained and only cut to show the swords, not my technique.

  • if you wear robe makes your swordsmanship look good and helps the sale swordsmanship looks good

  • LOL...I don't know about wearing a robe...

  • Whats wrong with the Yukata? Or hakama for that matter!

  • I just feel weird wearing a hakam since I have not been formally trained

  • I see, I think that is understandable. As I study toyama-ryu. I am going to have to have my mother order for me, however, as I am a younger practiconer. I hope there will be no troubles, 3 years off from being a legal adult. :D

  • u comment alot and look at ur name "JesusFuckingChrist84"...... I wouldnt listen to u never. So commecnts are useless

  • Nothing wrong with my name, if you want to interprut it as an insult, be my guest, but I've helped more people and been greeted by more people than yourself, so what does that say about you? If I love the Japanese sword, it doesn't mean anything, so stop whining and be a man. And stop speaking like an ignorant monkey, how is anyone going to take you seriously with that excrement spewing from that thing you call a mouth.

  • I don't wear glasses, so I can see your stupidity quite well. No one help ME, if you take a look, you'll see that I have good friends and subscribers, and the only reason I have this name is because THE ACCOUNT WAS STARTED FOR ME.So why don't you stop whining. Also, all bark and no bite? I can guarantee you, if I met your ignorant ass in person, something would be diced.

  • dude your a dick.

  • You stand up for Jesus Christ, but yet you go and talk like you just ate a bowl full of diarrhea.

Way to contradict yourself there, pal.

  • have you ever got cut

  • No...

  • I would like to volunteer on this "swordsofmight" but there are two things bad for me.

    1: I'm seventeen years old and my B-day isen't until the 12th

    2: I lived in australia.

    *sigh* :(

  • Sorry mate, looks like your outta luck. Appreciate it though!

  • No worrys.

  • i have that same paul chen katana, ive never used it to cut anything yet,but its good to see that it can withstand cutting exercises, ive had some cheap and nasty swords in the past which have fallen apart!

  • swordsofmight should hire someone who knows how to use the blade to demonstrate

  • Would you like to volunteer??

  • yeah, but i'm from portugal...

  • PS: I have only started iaido but done karate quite a lot !BUT! I HAVE NEVER TRIED TO CAUT ANYTHING, so keep this in mind when you read my hard critic :D And thats a damn nice sword also.

  • you are suppost to cut with the monouchi (if its written that way) its the last third of the sword, can't say from here how your doing but just good to mention. And for also practical reasons the more distance you have between you hands, but still but touch the knot for traditional reasons, this will increase your technique with lightyears. remeber: dont try to chop like with axe, you want to slice it clean, that looks more like a golf swing (good game btw)

  • AAARGH im too tired: ...practical reasons keep more distance between your hands this increases the lever and your able to cut from shorter distanse. And ....!Don't! touch the knot...

  • cool...so which is better..paul chen or cold steel

  • In my opinion, Chens are better.

  • thanks,in my collection of knives and swords i have a paul chen/hanwei practical katana,a corn leaf sabre and a banshee machete. all are very cool with great feel.the importance of decent quality hits home if you watch the youtube video of "sword infomercial gone wrong".find it watch it.very surpising.have a great day

  • I have a practical Katana, and I msut say the entire "practical hanwei" series is made up of excellent cutters, what do you charge?

  • Our price is 275

  • Learn to cut better, and you'll get through tatami mats 3 times as thick!

  • Thank you. I am not trained as such, I am just displaying our products that we sell.
