Around 1979,Paul came in from California and we had a jam session in the basement of one of Pauls old girl friends. My brother,Alex Geier played the bass and backup vocals,Paul played lead and main vocals, the drummer wasn't the original though, from their 60's band that is.They played for quite a few hours,we managed to tape it on a 4 track setup and I got it copied to cassette.I have about 3 songs taped, including Red Rooster.I will attempt to also get this on youtube.
Punch in on a Google search dompaulduo as one word and I think you can here some of the music they play, much more laid back the Head over Heels and Bruzer stuff. The bruzer album's my brother and myself have were both personally given to us from Paul and they have Demonstration Not For Sale stamped on them.I spoke with my brother and were going to get the 45 record they made in the 60's copied onto the computer so we can put it on youtube.
I saw Paul perform several times in LA over the years, with Head Over Heels, Fresh Start, and Bruzer. I love his voice and think he would've been a great replacement for Bon Scott in AC/DC. Sad to hear about his passing, and I'd love to hear some of the things he was doing with the DomPaul duo before he left us.
Last year we were finally able to talk with Paul again after all these years,it was great talking to him about old times,at this time,we also found out that he needed a Liver Transplant..About a month later we recieved the sad news that Paul had passed away.My brother I know, took it hard,as they had grown up together in the 50's ,60's.and started a band and played at our Jr High School.and in our garage many times from what I can remember..The Head Over Heels album is now on CD. RIP Paul.
The last time I seen Paul was here in Mich around 1985 when he was touring with the Gregg Kihn band and playing with the Dwight Twilly Band.Me and my brother for years, lost contact with him, only to find out last year, that he had moved from Califonia to Florida and was married and had a job making interiors for Jet airplanes and also was playing part time in a band called the dompaulduo who's website is still available
Paul Frank lived a street away from me back in the 60's in Warren MI.He had a band with my brother Alex Geier, who played the Bass. They were called the Mystics. My brother still has a 45 they cut back then, with 2 songs Mr Pitiful and I found a Love. They backed up many well known bands back in the Detroit area. They were about to make it big and had a recording contract through Marc Avery,a local DJ,I think in Detroit,.But Vietnam came along and ruined this great opportunity!!!
What an amazing band. I absolutely love this.
