House gecko's get like 3-5 inches i believe, i have one currently in a critter carrier for the time being. I found mine outside and the tank for them will be set up
House geckoes don't need UVB but they do need heat . You can just use a regular light bulbs for this . Once windows are glass the UVB rays will not pass through
@tylerf46 My friend has a house gecko with a green anole. House geckos are extremely fast so its hard to hold em, In fact i don't reccomend you to hold it
they are amazing :) btw, nice setup. i just found my loos house gecko last night. im gunna sell him and put the money towards a russian tortoise. they are $55.00. I am selling my gecko for 10 bucks.
that's awesome. Normally around hear the Petcos carry more than the Petsmarts reptile wise. The reptile shops I can even buy small Crocodiles(Caiman) and they grow to 4-6feet long.
Oh! Thats so cool. Hey, so you live where, in America? EXACTLY! Another American who thinks we probably live in Igloos.. =/ You don't get educated about stuff around the world do you..
OK ive seen u comment on like 30 videos so im just gonna straight up answer u, the only think that can live witha green anole is another green anole and maybe a baby chinese water dragon... JEEEZ!
Im getting two of these guys on Tuesday, plan on naming them Cheech and Chong. Have any tips for me before i buy them, i have a bearded dragon and i don't plan on these guys being harder to take care of but i heard there really fast.
yes they are live plants, but i am not sure what the are exactly i got them from the pet store in the vivarium section and yea i dont see any reason that that many anoles an h geckos couldnt live in that tank as long as you provide enough plant life and hiding spaces
not many....maybe like 2...i suppose...they would be happier in a bigger tank but i mean if you gave them everything else they need they would be fine
frequent misting with a water bottle...and as stupid as it sounds if we know we are going to be out of the house for the whole day we wet a paper towel and put it over the screened top so that it holds it in and contributes...and fill a small dish with water so that the evaporation keeps the tank moist....and live plants that are from the reptile dept of our pet store also help alot...and we have a water retension substrate...wow...i guess we have a lot lol but its all pretty easy! ^.^
for the dimensions you mentioned 1 toad shouldnt be bad, mixing species is tricky but it works if you follow some guidelines make sure there similar sized species and have the same requirements and the less species you have that share the same ecological niches better. example of my setup 38 g with a pair of green anoles upper branchs, 3 house geckos walls, a pair of bahamian curly tails floor, a green treefrog and a hermit crab and so far so good
you can...we do....BUT if you do since the toad have the toxin they leave on everything you REALLY have to keep up on tank cleaning so that it doesnt affect the others in the tank
cool thanks, its cute isnt it u can just see his little hand sticking out the branches lol- id like to see thm moving round though, are they very active?
No...sprewel is right...Leopard geckos and anoles have VERY different living conditions...
but it really all depends on who you talk to about mixing the house Geckos and anoles... some say never some say go ahead...and ours do just fine and in fact seem to love living together
Its generally not recommended to mix anoles and house geckos (mostly due to parasites/stress) but people do it all the time. They have similar requirements and are usually fine in a big tank. Leopard geckos would not work out with anoles however.
they might accept each other as they both have relatively similar care requirements, althaugh personally i beleive u should not mix anoles and leopard geckos because its unnatural. in the wild they wud neva meet because leopard geckos come from india, iran and pakistan whereas anoles comes from southern usa(if u meen green anoles or carrabean for brown anoles)

would it be ok 2 house a house gecko with sand as a substrate?
JFMUFC26 2 years ago
i say u shouldent get a house gecko.
i had 1 n they are sucky pets b/c they always hide, fast, will run from you & they stick to the glass.
So you can rarely see em come out unless u feed em & they will never be handled. get a leopard gecko or bearded dragon..much better pets

Are those live plants? If so, what are they? Also do you think that 2 house geckos and one green anole could live in a 20 gallon?
