I don't know how you traditionally audition for show, but for the shows that I've auditioned for, they wanted to have the auditionees sing songs from the show to see if they're fit for the part.

It depends on which version of Annie you're talking about. I believe this is from the original motion picture. The disney version had a second verse, but the original didn't. (Or it might have been vice versa).
