I dont know how I feel about this song. Then there is the album cover from Free at last with the eye. If I find out the song In the Light is referring to the Illuminati Light Im gonna flip my shit bc I grew up listening to them.
@thesonicblast1 Toby talked about why he covered the song on Jesus Freak hideout. He said the song caught his ear from day one and described how the writer is like the adult version or Dr. Suess cause the lyrics are just so intense. I eventually found the Soul Junk version to the song but I like Toby's version better. Also, the Tobymac song In the Air from Momentum was written by Soul Junk as an interlude. Hope this helped! lol
The real thought behind the song is its sort of poking at the Pharisees. Of course, its basically ILL M I, and you, Illuminati shining through you. Illuminati, people are confused by what that means, but one of the dictionary definitions is 'a person or persons claiming superior spiritual enlightenment.' So, that to me is a Pharisee anyone who claims to be an all-knowing spiritual person. So, it's sort of saying, "Ill am I. I'm all ill down here, and you, Illuminati, shining through.
@SkillsthatKills99 illuminati was founded around late 1700s by a group of free masons and to my knowledge has been manifested into merely a myth, but it is supposedly associated to Lucifer with a function of creating a New World Order by merging all nations and cultures through the manipulation of media, symbols, and subliminal tactics.
@WildBillHickums The one world government aka the new world order (Illuminati) is a real idea and is trying to take place. Pop culture promotes it. It's a trick to take away everyone's freedom and make us all slaves to government. Many people think it's a good plan but it's evil.
@TheThunderGirl1 But the Illuminati to me is very vague, it is never precise to start pointing fingers at any specific thing. An example of this is in the movie "Pleasantville" where everyone starts pointing fingers at eachother as conspirators but it turns out, everyone is in on it, even the judge. So as obvious as it may seem, Pop culture, the government, and other devices may not be specifically responsible, but the illuminati is perhaps something more enigmatic
@SkillsthatKills99 actually, its a subliminal message about the illuminati controlling the music industry. almost all artists that have some sort of moral platform, have spoken out against them throughout the years. thats kinda why you dont hear a lot about Tmac these days.

@cyczopek My best guess is that it is. Anything about prophecy on apocolypse and anything about one world government is part of the Illuminati.
