I have two questions here. first off, when I run your app I see the test seems to work and report 0's where I would expect them. When I run the level though, it is off by a very visible amount. Is this due to math rounding? Secondly, can we display G's with the accelerometer?
@joedillo G's equate to magnitude of the three readings. Calculate it with SQRT(x*x+y*y+z*z). The pad on which the Zune is resting has something under it, so it's not level.
It is a device which detects forces of acceleration on an object. Gravity also exerts a force of acceleration on things, so the accelerometer let's the device know how it's positioned (so some people call it a tilt meter). As the user moves the device the accelerometer let's the device know it is being moved too.
