I have mine up and running now, and it works great in Future Pinball and on several Visual Pinball tables. But a few VP tables won't launch the ball with any speed with the bouncebacks. I'll note a few tables and get back to you to see if they are that way on yours, too.
Hey, I'm guessing you're referring to VP tables that use the default plunger, most good tables like circus voltair there have a different mechanism "i think" to simulate a plunger more realistically. Though I'm sure some table builders at the forums will be able to fill you in more there.
Nice! How does it perform with the "bounce back" from the small spring when it hits? I'm testing mine now, and it bounces pretty significantly... Great idea, though!
Yeah there is always going to be some general "bounce back". You can see in the video at :31 onwards how it effects the Visual Pinball plunger on this Circus Voltair table. I actually think it adds some realism because all it's doing is pressing the button really quickly simulating several quick key presses as it comes to a rest. The result is a vibration effect in the software which is semi-real with out a true analogue representation.
This is a cheap digital solution (that from experience) I see people get used to in moments. In use... the plunger feel is barely questioned when I watch them play. Though it does depend on the table's implementation of the plunger... the speed on which it is drawn is something that can be customised in the software etc.
You can't beat the real thing, son.
