Johnson's view must be respected since she was indeed a P.O.W. Her unit which was not a ground combat unit since women do not serve in such units, but a Maintenance unit supporting 5/52 ADA. During an advance toward Baghdad, behind combat units, the land navigational incompetence of officers leading her unit, made a wrong turn and drove through Iraqi lines. The unit was engaged, some killed others taken prisoner. Ground combat is not something she was expected to deal with. Me, 11B 2/502 Inf.
