  • I found this article by Davide Canazza about the UK Hard Day's Night Album where he states, "...The only solos played by George with the Gretsch Country Gentleman are on "Can't Buy Me Love", "Long Tall Sally" (two solos in the studio version, while live the first of the two solos will always be played by John), "Matchbox" and "Slowdown"." I'm inclined to believe this since the studio solo #1 sounds much cleaner than the live one and live versions often varied from studio versions.

  • Oh and I notice theres a lot of debate in who played what solo on the record...

John played the first one and George played the second. No doubt about it.

  • @chesster1box

That is a Korean built Casino in natural. I have exactly the same in VS and it is AMAZING. You will never turn back. Careful though, because production moved from Korea to china in 2007, and the quality can be questionable.

  • @britishwit The quality of the Chinese Epiphones was defintiely questionable back in 2007 when the move was first made, however it seems that currently they're pretty much on par with their earlier Korean models

  • @sunriseRISE This is the second solo.

  • @SolidSnakeBossMGO .... yeah your right but so am as ((see 65 nme live show under my fave.. john takes all that lead for the first break...

  • @sunriseRISE I saw the video, but each of them still plays their part. John doesn't plays the first solo but not the one in this video, and George improvises a different solo.

  • @SolidSnakeBossMGO .SORRY but john does '''=allways has''' -did and even''DO IT on their recordING OF ltsally- -lennon plays the first lead guitar break and also the runs downs that end the song-- in the 65 NME video the camera stays on george-- but you can see hes just play the rNr chugg.. while you can clearly hear the lead guitar from john going on....

  • @sunriseRISE Haha, I don't know if you're confused somehow, but I'm pretty sure George is playing that 2nd solo in 65', especially in 64' nme. You can hear John playing the 1st solo and the ending.

  • @sunriseRISE When I listen to the record on my earphones, the two guitars are switched. After John's solo, his guitar is turned down and George's is louder. You can tell which guitar is which in the ending.

  • @SolidSnakeBossMGO .. well just find a live clip =AND YOU WILL SEE LENNON DOING THE ENDINGS

  • @sunriseRISE Actually you can hear both of them at the ending, except George plays the bass notes and John is more noticeable. I am saying George plays the 2nd solo which is what mjsokes is playing.

  • HE DELETED HIS CHANNEL!! HOW SAD! :(

  • Beautiful guitar! Did you make it yourself, or is there someplace that sells Lennon guitars?

  • @johngears11 Epiphone sells reqular Casinos and a Inspired by John Lennon Casino

  • Really good cover!

I love those octaves in the start of the solo, so cool

  • great playing! :) and what kind of guitar is that?
