i find the traction control on the ml a pain!!!the fact it doesn't fully turn off is a reason i wouldn't rate it as an off roader!!!still nice though!!
We just tried to pass a though passage in the wood on our roadbook ,but afterwarths we saw that we couldn't pass! that happens a lot on our trips in the ardennes!but we had fun!!!That's all that matters!
If my eyes saw correctly, a new-gen ML pulled the old-gen ML out. If that's true, then it's the OLD ML that isn't designed to do that. The new MLs can take more off-roading than most people think.
Other point is... we can use a Ml to travel and go across europe in confort and get on bad roads and trails with confort,,,
But geting miles in a defender or other dedicated off road veicle is a pain ... noise, ride, confort it just isnt possible to 1000 km with friends in a confortable normal way... I feel good in traveling trough dust and mud terrain in a AC controled car in leader seats listening to a good cd taking it of track and then just put 1000km in asfalt road like a normal merc
You can't from miles away compare the ML with a defender!!But the ML gives a good combination on quality and handling on and off the road!,with good offroad tyres the ML will go very far on offroad!further than any other SUV! and believe me, I have already some years of experience!!(with Range rover and ML!)So we can discuss here over several pages who's best and better, but for me, it's just me kind of car I liked best!...and besides, the old ML is still looking good after 10 years.
Im from portugal and i have an ml it will never do the same as a defender or a jeep wrangler os something tought to be given that kind of abuse ...
I dont share the vision that all that comes form america is sheet and retarded ...
They got some decent off road veicles.
Course we got the G class, defender, brouler wild cat and some othe mutch beter build and nimble of roaders ... but jeeps and other kinds of short weel based cars from US are also very good on extreme of road
Come on dude i live in the states and i really love MB's but you cant say jeeps are shit. The laredo is a poor mans ml and the wranglers are damn near impossible to get stuck.
Did you see how the newer ML (On the Left, black) was much more raised than the older model (On the Right, red) ? The new models have a raised option for off road, there's a lot more technology in them to help you when you're in situations like these. But the older models are still the very first Mercedes SUV's and special in their own way, I just admire how the new ones have so much technology to drive off road and yet they still feel like a sports car when you take it on a real road!
your right!on all these things!but the offroad pack is a quit expensive option on the new ML,however the old ML has a lowrange standard, and the new ML hasn't,and ther is the different...being stuck there was my fault,I could avoid the whole but Ihad it filled up with a large stone in the track!!and my gas tank(LPG)had it hit!
Yes, definitely the older ML has a lot of options that made it the best luxury SUV on the market in it's days. A very impressive machine, good thing you had another handy ML to pull you out! Hope you have many good years with your ML.
jeep?? hehehhe.. We all know that the ML's whre not made for this kind of xtreme offroad. That's the G KLASSE job, but U cannot show up with such a disgrace comment like that...get a Jeep??? Jeep is an american vehicle, that means that is a piece of shit.
Ill still say a panzer! hit me up guy

You've got too much money I want to see pictures of your Cayman.

Don't think the ML was designed to do that. If I was going to try and get a vehicle through that it would have to be a diff locked Patrol!

But it isn't made for mall shopping eather!
We just tried to pass a though passage in the wood on our roadbook ,but afterwarths we saw that we couldn't pass! that happens a lot on our trips in the ardennes!but we had fun!!!That's all that matters!
And besides, I don't like the patrol!too tractor!

I agree with you that the Patrol is very agricultural. The ML is a nice car too and at least you had fun!

Right, so please put some good tyres on your ML and give us a better film.

The ML isn't made for that. A Panzer Mark IV is.
Elementz123 4 years ago
