I thought you could select the same dress costume with the braids by pressing "X"? I gotta boot up DOA4 myself and make sure, but I'm pretty sure the braids are still in, just not default anymore.

Hey, I never said she didn't look cute (far from that). A lot of people are fond to her legs being so attractive and in fact, flock to her dress since it reveals it all. You don't need to worry, she does have the braids in the game, you just press "X" at the select screen and there you have it.
