I consider the abrams, the apache, and the a-10 as the "big three" of the cold war. These guys were going to give Ivan a run for his money if he ever poked his head through the fulda gap. Watching this thing manuever makes me wonder how it'd look dodging aa missiles and releasing its payload over a hellish battlefield.

The A-10, in my opinion, is pretty much a fixed-wing version of the AH-64 Apache. Tank busters are, by nature, bad ass.

no shit they're different aircrafts, but the f-35 is a stealth joint operations aircraft and is much more efficient at doing the A-10's job than the A-10 is (other than completely demoralizing enemy with the roar of the A-10 cannon of course) so the f-35 is replacing it along with the AV-8B F/A-18E/F, EA-6B Prowler, and the F-16. look into it before you comment.
