In the end they all have something positive or negative.

The Templars want to protect humanity but at the cost of freedom.

The Dragon want to give humanity freedom but at the cost of order and safety.

The Illuminati are the only one that could get the "bad" label. They want power. But that makes them interesting (I personally like the Information-is-Power aspect of them).
