  • Caligula is gay

  • Is the emperor referring to all of those fat men acting out dressed in robes as the "castrated homosexual gods" holding his future queen by the leash? Cause I think at the end, he refers to the cup barer as Ganymede I think.

  • sadistic. severed head :D

  • for some reason, margaret thatcher led me to this... rock n roll!

  • That's why they bashed his daughter's head against a wall

  • If only all America had just one neck!

  • @pryan96 you still wouldn't have the balls to do anything....... you left wing poofter.

  • and they called the celts barbaric

  • @conor845 yeah, Tinto Brass is the one who was the true savage

  • What a cunt(-:

  • If only all Rome had just one neck idk why but i like that line the rest of the movie eh not so much

  • Caligula was a demon...

  • I'm gone have nightmares forever now! :-(

  • I kind of like the shitty edited one better only because it makes Caligula seem that much more random and brutal.

  • Poor Father Karras, he just can't get a break, can he?

  • @GamrDan It looks just like him lol

  • Caligula shoves his fist up Proculus's ass later in the film. Seriously.

  • the modified version more realistic, nasty cruel!!

  • Love that death machine!!! Best bit in the movie. But I prefer this scene as its normally shown. Macros death would have more meaning but in this cut he becomes a mere after thought to Proculus. Good stuff anyway

  • But I have heard it is included in the three-disc Imperial Edition of the film. (from an Amazon review of the Imperial Edition) "The film unflinchingly charts his plummet into madness and the brutality of his reign in scenes of hardcore sex and violence that cannot be described here ("I can't watch," Mirren cries to her interviewers over one scene in which unfortunate characters are beheaded by a blade-spinning combine. "I can't even listen to it")."

  • Is this scene included in the original unrated, 156 minute version of the film?

  • @xcowsxgoxmoox Can't you read? NO.

  • @emlodik Well, it was kinda fully restored in the Alternate version (a few minutes shorter than the 156-min version) which can be found in the Imperial Edition 4-disc set of Caligula

  • @emlodik Ohhhh dominate him!

  • @emlodik I've seen this scene before, without having to wade through bits and bobs of Italian.

  • @xcowsxgoxmoox my version of the film has this scene.

  • Does any of these people who "enjoy" the show, really enjoy it, or are they also a part of a machine ? The Pleasure Machine ?

  • if i could be a ceasar, i would have too castrated homosexuals to guard my wife. :)

  • When you see scenes like this, you really what the human race is truly capable of. Small wonder we have natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis which wipe of all in its path indiscriminately. If 2012 brings what it's supposed to bring, I guess we all asked for it. After all, how much evil can the world take? LOL.

  • lol @ all of these stupid motherfuckers in the comments who "love" and "admire" caligula. you sheep...

  • Why were u so rude, saying "Your mother seriously should've had that abortion." this is utterly offensive, please control yourself.

Its great there r people like u posting interesting footage online, but do not ruin your crediability by insulting people.

If someone is rude to u, or disses yr work, u have 2 basic options, confront or rise above, delete the negative unproductive commentsl. and just keep on doing the great work your doing. Great Work be happy and rise above the mire. :)

  • We should use that machine on Rebecca Black and Justin Beiber...

  • @ccipollini1984 I respectfully disagree...

  • MASTERPIECE!!!!

  • @nprintheshit NO, BUTT-TWAT. Proculus is the one thrown into the pit. Macro is the one buried to his neck. Your mother seriously should've had that abortion.

  • @emlodik I stand corrected i didnt watch this to the end! and i thought i had the full uncut version! So thats why he got his arse fisted off caligula then!...for being a show off!

  • That head chopping wall, thing is cool. I wonder how it's moving though or how anyone came up with such a thing back then.

  • I have the uncut version, 156 mins long. Some are 90 mins some are 126 mins. A lot more than 6 mins was cut out. This scene was. The version I have, and I have just checked, has no colour/hue change as shown above. When I can be bothered I will cut it out and post it. Including the scene where a centurion is having wine forced down him with his charlie tied.

  • @zeds2ded After they cesar cut out's the soldiers dick he say's " And now he's..happy"

  • 0:50 aparece um cara de piru de fora hahahah

  • Guys, you're all wrong, this isn't a movie; it's a documentary. NASA sent a film crew back in time and they convinced Caligula to let them follow him around, taping his rule.

  • This is what I imagine Kim Jong il's 'parties' to be like.

  • Corrigendum: It's a 1979 movie.

Malcolm McDowell was brilliant in this movie.

  • piece of shite.

  • doesn't the obvious solution seem be stay in the large gap between the blades?

  • I just saw this movie for the first time ever a couple of nights ago and I love it. This killing machine is the creepiest thing ever. It really makes me feel like Boorman was doing something like this with Excalibur. It actually was alot tamer than I thought it would be...

  • @lensjockeyvideo the best part is that it starred Malcom McDowell, known for playing characters that are batshit crazy in movies that are insanely controversial. that's why he's a god

  • A young Helen Mirren wearing a dog collar... not bad.

  • @Anarchist86ed That's EXACTLY what I'd do with her here nyuk nyuk nyuk

  • Is this footage of the US Senate??? or the House of Representatives???

  • I guess this is a necessary component to any empire.

  • This scene (and the complete) movie is still creepy for me!

  • i love these kinds of films. i think older film just fascinate me more... also if your so pissed at people leaving comments then take the video down. dont take it out on everyone else

  • i love longinus

  • im pretty sure thats not proculus. as i remeber caligula stuck his fist in the guys ass then he had his weener cut off and the dog ate it...... do not mess with the emperor

  • A lot of bods slag this film off something serious but fuck em what do they know

  • Wow, so this is what Terrence did before he created TMA...

  • Is the full WORKPRINT ( as you can see I've been to Wikipedia) available on DVD, or at least the 156 minute version so I can finally OWN this film? Who cares what the critics say? It's one of the best things I've ever seen!

  • Cheers, I hadn't seen the cut material. It's a bit camp I can see why it was cut.

  • Love this movie!

  • Anyone thinking about watching this film. I suppose you'll want to satisfy your own curiosity anyway, but personally I regret it, this scene is the most interesting this film gets and the rest of the film is like staring at an open wound, most of it being like an incredibly bad porn film.

  • This was in the version i watched....

  • What kind of a lunitic bastard this Caligula was

  • i love "Caligula". In a sens he had more consideration for his people than for his senator. He prooves how much it's dangerous to put power to the hand of one man. He had chosen a depraved wife to shock every body, and put his horse as a minister! ha! ha! ha! That's why "the great" have killed him. I'm not sure at all he was insane. Rome society was insane, (like all society), and he have decided to proove it even if he paid it by his own life. I LOVE HIM. love Malcom mac Dowell too.

  • Proculus: 1 Killing Machine: 0

  • I concur... the different versions being spliced together using footage from two formats/filmstocks...

What you're seeing in the scene-cuts is the difference between 16mm and 35mm film. The washed out portions were actually filmed with a Eumig C16, budget might have been an issue... the 35mm beauty was filmed with a Mitchell BNC-R.

  • This movie is a true masterpiece. A fine example of human progress and ingenuity. This will go down with such classics as the Maltese Falcon, Citizen Kane, and the Godfather. For centuries film critics will shout out in orgasmic ecstasy 'CALIGULA! CALIGULA! OH ASTOUNDING FILM!"

  • I hear this is the neocons favorite movie and a tradition at the Bohemian Grove.

  • BOB IS DEAD ! R.I.P YOU SICK BASS-TURD! thanks for the boobs and the papercuts

  • baaa baaa baaa

  • @MrDiablolord It's Ancient Rome, dipshit.

  • @emlodik oh..im sorry i guess i need to keep on to my history more -.-

  • @emlodik Simple mistake as most of rome spoke greek as a second language anyway!

  • @MrDiablolord The GREEKS !!!!!

    Harharharharhar !!!!!

  • @MrDiablolord The Greeks? What the fuck are you talking about?

  • @MrDiablolord its rome - caligula was a crazy roman emporer

  • @MrDiablolord hahahahah lol Caligula Greek ???

you end any school fucken bastard ??

  • No wonder they cut this scene out. It adds only to Caligula's jelosy of Proculous, but not much else. Not having it makes Caligula's anger seem much more random and make him much more cruel and nonsensical. It dosen't have much tension or merit as an action scene either, I didn't think anybody who wasn't buried up to their heads couldn't get away from that thing.

  • I hardly believe there will ever be a more fucked up movie than this shit. xD

  • now in days he a get is ass wooped cant be a bitch like that anymore

  • Where are the subtitles? I'm not seeing them.

  • it's good to be king

  • wtf this is nasty shit.

  • so stupid they had all these huge machines but used them for shit like this

  • thats why we split the atom we do the same thing today. Why do we build stealth bombers lol. I can only imagine a thousand years from now on spacetube some dude will be saying the same thing about our time and use of technology.

  • Talk about a little of the ultra violence, huh? But did such a contraption actually exist?

  • @Bla31n Yes... Yes it did...

  • CALIGAYLA ^^

  • Thanks for posting this scene! I've had a curious fascination with this film, even owning the 3-disc DVD set a few years back. I wonder if this scene was part of the special features on that disc, or if any of Danilo Donati's production design was recycled for FLASH GORDON.

  • Was this scene on the 3-disc DVD? I used to have it but I don't recall. Anyway I wonder any of Danilo Donati's set design or any of the costumes were recycled for FLASH GORDON.

  • This isn't exactly a deleted scene - it's just there's so many versions of this film because the shoot was such a disastrous clusterfuck that it probably didn't make the copy you saw. Bob Guccione re-shot half of it after the fact with hardcore porn added. Note the atrocious color changes thoughout the scene

  • @manhattan85 Noooo, it IS a deleted scene. There is only ONE version of the film where the scene was added and that was only because Franco Rossellini was adding in every scrap of extra footage he could find in order to make his cut different from Guccione's.

You seriously think this was re-shot by Guccione? You need your head checked. The only reason the color changes is because of the different sources uses to piece the scene together, AS I ALREADY NOTED.

  • @emlodik I like how dickish your responses are!

  • @manhattan85 And Bob Guccione DID NOT "reshoot half of it," all he did was shoot the lesbian scene and replace some of Brass' sex footage during the imperial bordello scene. Six minutes of footage hardly qualifies as "half the movie."

  • @emlodik I didn't say Guccione shot this scene you jackass, does this look like a gangbang to you?

  • @emlodik Wikipedia makes mention of a " workprint ". Therefore I take it that the scenes with the washed out color, form this workprint? And that the film's very best representation would be the slightly shorter 156 minute one?

  • While history is biased there is few first hand account about Caligula and whatever he was he had certainly very bad and spoiled personality. Seneca knew him first hand and did not speak anything good or neutral about him. Philo met him as ambassador and did write down this encounter. According this that guy was total a-hole as we say today,,,

  • That's Macro, not Proculus.

  • @DillPickleet Why is this video a magnet for morons? Macro is the one getting executed, Proculus is the one who runs the gauntles! Jeez!

  • @emlodik Oh wow, didn't watch the entire thing.

  • @DillPickleet And it's because of dunces like you I later get messages along the lines of "OMG LYK DIS NOT DELTED SEEN LULZ!!1one!!1"

Ugh, I'm sorry I even posted this.

  • @emlodik Are you sane? Get some help friend.

  • Caligula is a film that does a good job at showing the Roman art of decadence and pervsions of power with all its scenes of carnal sexuality, violence, incest, lust and betrayal. It's just a shame there wasn't a stronger narrative to tie it altogether, as it does get a touch dull after a while and becomes rather aimless.

    Good job on the editing.

  • There aren't too many films as bad as this one. Writing, acting, dialogue, cinematography...just garbage.

If you want porn, just get some porn.

  • @wretchedbastard Shut your mouth, you stupid bitch.

  • @emlodik, if you like this ridiculous garbage enough to come rushing to its defense, then you are a genuinely worthless person.

You probably think it was actually filmed in Ancient Rome. Don't you?

  • @wretchedbastard It was filmed in Rome in 1979 AD.

You cannot judge a person just because they do not agree with you.

People are entitled to their opinion.

  • @spotswood4444, don't lecture me on whether people are entitled to their opinion. I don't care if somebody else likes it or not. Read the comment I replied to and see if you can figure out who needs the lecture.

Incidentally, just because a film is expensive and elaborate doesn't endow it with greatness, cough, Waterworld, cough cough.

  • @wretchedbastard I am not lecturing you at all, I am just pointing out that if you don't like a film, then that is fine. But if I think a film is crap then I am free to state that, however I respect another individuals right to either dislike a film, or to like it. I would not insult a person just because they disagreed with my views. I do not like Waterworld, but I would respect the views from an individual who did.

Please realise that your view, is just that, your view and yours alone.

  • @wretchedbastard Simply by stating that someone is worthless because they do not agree with you is idiotic and childish. I doubt very much that you know anything about films, and indeed acting. In fact the way in which you behave speaks volumes about you, and your upbringing. You are a pathetic, foolish, insignificant person.

I suppose that you take after your parents.

It is easy to hide behing Youtube, I doubt that you would speak like this face to face. You are full of shit.

  • @spotswood4444, let's review.

I said I thought the film was garbage, which you graciously acknowledged that I am permitted to do, as though your approval is required.

Some idiot responded: "Shut your mouth, you stupid bitch." As the gloves were off, I responded with mockery and insult.

Christ, I wasn't even talking to you. And then you start lecturing *me* about respect? I'll put the quality of my breeding next to yours any time.

Your pompous, self-important sanctimony is pathetic. Grow up.

  • @wretchedbastard

Now then Sunshine, let us indeed review.

You clearly stated that the Writing, acting dialogue, and cinematography was garbage. What you should have said was that in your opinion these issues were garbage. You actualy make out that these issues are garbage and thats it, and no one elses opinion counts for anything. I agree that it was wrong for someone to tell you to "Shut your mouth, you stupid bitch", but you attract these comments due to your arrogance.

  • @wretchedbastard

Also, you state that you were not even talking to me when you replied to emlodik. I agree that you were not directly conversing with me, however you said that "If you like this ridiculous garbage enough to come rushing to it's defence, then you are a genuinely worthless person". That last comment implies that you mean that if anyone defends "Caligula", then your worthless person applies to them also. So as you make your point it applies to everyone, and not just emlodik.

  • @wretchedbastard The film Caligula was actually made in 1979, at great expense and with some of the most elaborate sets ever produced. The film was made in 2 parts, the part with Sir John Gielgud and Peter O'Toole in, and then the Hardcore part. The film was part financed by Mafia money. Some people hate it, and some people like it. Personally I think that it is a refreshing masterpiece. The film producers wanted the look of a film with realism, and with little good acting, as it would look bad.

  • as interesting as the killing machine is...it's a bit extravagant for it's purpose. I mean do you need to entire wall?

  • this movie is so accurate on that killing machine i wonder what the people do after the machine passes from where they are they are can you see something "um nope oh well"

  • The whole movie should have been deleted. It was truly awful!

  • i´m studying classical archeology and history, never heard of, read of or seen traces of such a machine... ;-)))

  • "What's the password?"

    "Scrotum!"

    "So be it!"

    *Slash*

  • I know this film is absolutely awful but...damn it, something about it just facinates me. I mean, the production values are excellent and the acting is pretty good. I mean, in the face of the script and everything going on on camera is doesn't balance out the terribleness but this is just a facinating film.

  • @thejoexman why cuz of the orgies and cumshots?

  • i dint think Rome would have such a scifi looking machine

  • How hard would it be to dodge that machine if you weren't buried neck-deep underground?

  • Anyone who is descended from Charlemagne (which is about half of Europe's population) could also be descended from at least two of Caesonia's half-brothers. Her mother, Vistilia, is supposed to have had at least six children from as many fathers.

  • Did the Romans really have a "Wall of Death"?

  • @TheJoeyD27

    Short answer: No.

  • @TheJoeyD27 when I saw this movie I was more curious if Romans really had men walking around wearing penises on their heads

  • I'd hate to be anywhere near him in Roman times. And I would hate to watch this on acid!

  • didn't know this type of technology was available in ancient rome..... lolz

  • @MioRaem

Um, Yes. And Vivian Leigh KINDA looks like the actress who plays Scarlet O'Hara. Sheesh.

  • such a creative death machine lol

  • peliculon

  • I can't tell you how many people I'd love to use this machine on....

  • @MioRaem i think its because this IS actually malcolm mcdowell, ted fast

  • saw this at the cinema on its release......what a bore fest.time has not been kind to it.

  • @emlodik What a clever, intelligent response to someone's opinion. Well done. You must be a really intelligent person.

  • @THthefirst Have you seen the garbage these idiots post on this thread?

  • @emlodik Yes, but the poster to whom you replied was merely giving a view without being unpleasant. It's fine for someone not to like the film, even if you did post it (and thanks for so doing), you have to accept other people have an opinion. And let's face it, this film has been severely mauled by critics over the years.

  • @emlodik You do realise that you are making this movie a great disservice by acting like an immature retard while defending it?

  • Thank you so much for uploading this deleted scene of Caligula. I have the 3-disc unrated collector's edition, and this scene was a hot mess, but I kinda liked it (lol). You gotta love Malcolm McDowell, Helen Mirren and Peter O'Toole, but the rest of it was hardcore porno (no surprise there lol). It was also noted that screenwriter Gore Vidal disassociated himself from the film after the gay sex scenes were excised (it was only 2 gay sex scenes in the movie, but only showed them for 5 seconds).

  • I really don't see why people think this is the worst movie ever. I actually think it's quite good. Yeah there's a lot of nudity and violence, but I think that's just being accurate.

  • @blakiecakes419 No it certainly isn't

  • @cyberwurst Moron.

  • @MioRaem Well... DUUUH,

  • caligula miał nierówno pod sufitem

  • Wow! Lol!

  • I dont understand why is his mistress on a leash..?

  • @AmazingAesa You never watched the movie? The mistress is a total whore with a rather discriminant desire for men. That being said, Caligula wanted to make sure that he was the only one having sex with her and that he's the father to her children. BTW, if you didn't hear what he said the guards were 'homosexuals who've been castrated', that's actually very clever. Even if she manages to turn a 100% gay man straight, he still lacks the stuff to knock her up with.

  • @Hotshotter3000

No I havent, but I want to! But Im not sure where Id get the dvd. And yes I heard him say that, but didnt hear who he was referring to. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • The camera work in this movie was terrible. Whoever photographed this movie must have had too much wine with his lunch.

I know this was shot in Italy, but Italian movies weren't known to be this bad.

Except for the Giallo horror films. Guccioni should've just had Dario Argento direct it.

  • The real problem with the camera work was that it lacked any decent editing. Both the director and the screenplay writer dropped out before the end. Plus, the producer was a perverted control freak who merely wanted to make an expensive porno. Had Vidal, who wrote the original screenplay been held in higher regard and the director not been treated like shit by the producer, this movie might've been a classic.

Despite everything, the cast of the movie performed excellently. Especially McDowell.

  • yeah , the part were proculus climbs over that thing and and receives a crown, and when they grab the future wife is not in the imperial edition. 1st time isee that. thanks to the uploader.

  • Comment removed

  • i've heard this movie is disgusting-can someone tell me if that is true or is it a matter of opinion?

  • @Lyriicistique Yes it is. It's the type of movie you'd only want to see once to satisfy your curiosity and basically get bored with it afterward. Of course if you do watch it again, it's probably gonna be in the cult classic category. There's relatively little 'hardcore' porn there, but they don't pull any punches with any of the stuff that does exist.

  • mc dowell such a talent

  • A face was removed off a citizen and sewn onto a soccer ball in Jaurez, Mexico. The head, limbs and torso were found in different places as a warning from the drug cartel. Media is self censoring now after journalist have been murdered and tortured for reporting the crimes. People like this exist.

  • @DJKimiazHotLixx

    Fucking scary.

  • the worst is to know that still exist people like caligula that seen the world just by his eyes, the kind of man that just want that he cant have, that impulses whitout regressing, no matter what.

  • @guilhermewolfman

I agree. When you have someone who has no end of power, no remorse or ability to feel any capacity of empathy-therin lies the heart of darkness.

  • Well, that explains it. I picked up Caligula in the late 80's (on VHS, even) in the foreign section of a local rental place. I certainly remember the English subtitles. I don't think the language was in Italian, though. Could be wrong about that, though... I've slept several times since then :-). (don't think there was crack involved, however)

  • I also remember watching this scene in a version broadcasted by a private TV channel in Spain (early 90s). I'm sure this is simply related to the version of the film one chooses. Good memory, by the way ;)

  • Caligula or Nero? who was a worse Emperor?

  • Caligula

  • Nero was in power for a longer period of time so I would say him.

  • @Stevenio but at least nero could burn cd´s also hahahaha

  • This is almost definitely historically accurate

  • except for this scene, a machine like this could have not have existed at the time.

  • @nobodysperfect06

Haha I was joking, this film is notoriously historically innaccurate
