Doesn't most zerg have a mass zergling army to go with the Mutas? He could of swarmed all over your stalkers in his first attack with Muta ling. (~10min like Idra does it)

Small thing for a noob like me to take away is that scouting with hallucination before robo is much more useful than people make it to be.

@Francotiradorgaming i use phoenix against muta a fair amount and i'm ~top50 masters on NA points-wise... when a player is rushing muta thats also a huge investment for the Z player, and not only does phoenix surpass muta in terms of strength but then gives you valuable map control/awareness, making it impossible for the zerg to double expand, also you will basically know at any point when they are transitioning out of mutas!

phoenix counter is usually a bad idea in masters league and above, they might be the hardest counter for mutas in the the game, but they are an extremely huge investment (especially on 2 bases), your ground army will lack of tech and upgrades, and while you are waiting for the 2 stargates to finish zerg can double expand and drone while pumping the gas into mutas, then he will have such an enormous eco advantage that he can roll you even with pure roaches.

@kyhocket777 im currently 1,000 point Masters. @ freerunningftw i only went the heavy phoenix because i saw that early spire which was indicative of phoenix. if he was going roach (which i would haveknown due to having hallucinate still) i woulda thrown down a few cannons and a robo to help defend :)

im bronze league and this strat is amazing against his build but when u went with that expo what if he had mass roach instead of early mutas aggresion? and how would your build change?

Im not a pro like Ryan, but i agree with him. For me, its way easier to hold against muta pressura with Phoenix.

Ryan, next time., lower your ingame sound, plz. IT will make it easier for us to hear you. :D
