i never had fake nails for 2 reasons... 1. they get all soft and nasty and ruins ur nails(my mom used to work for this at a beauty school) 2. my natural nails look fake already no lie i promise ive been told by my teachers,friends,the nail salon lady who did my nails once, random ppl....etc. xD

I am older now and I've got more willpower (yes, I have stopped biting my nails), however, if my parents have told me off as a child, maybe then I wouldn't have been addicted at all. If they told me off or slapped my hands every time I tried to bite my nails then maybe I wouldn't have even started. Such traits and addictions happen at young age and they can be prevented.

I always wanted to do pageant(unfortunatly my mom wouldn't let me till I was 14), and I always wanted to wear make-up and wear fake nails(something I don't even do now mostly because I'm lazy), girls do like too do those things dress up, and get dolled up, I always did as a little girl. Guess what I was a girly girl. I still played with dolls and outside but If I had been allowed to do pageants I would have only done them on weekends anyways.

The 13 year olds you know, and the 13 year olds I knew must be different, because the 13 year olds I knew were always trying to act adult and grown. white, black, hispanic, all of them. Hardly anyone acted like they wanted to go back to being 5, at 13, you are officially a teen, you start wearing make-up, doing your hair, etc. And alot of the 13 year olds I knew looked grown all on their own no make-up or anything, they just looked old.

Kids do not come with the mental defense mechanisms needed to help them deal with losing because they didn't 'look' the prettiest, and don't try to say they can cope because that is crap.
