Top speed isn't everything, the day a car can beat a McLaren round a track and in a straight line will be a fine achievement in motoring history. If a manufacturer built a car that could beat the McLaren F1 in every way using todays technology I would congratulate them. McLaren was not tested on the Nardo track,cause it's built way afetr the McLaren F1 ..so the speed test has to be done on the McLaren's test track...so it's not official. Only speed records set on the Nardo track,are official. SSC is the fastest..but in the US...why don't they put him on the nardo track?....I don't know.....but I realy want to see that.. the mc f1 record test was done on an average of 2 tests, one clockwise on ehra and the other counter clockwise. It was Guiness's stupid idea to standardise things.

On one run it went 391kmh. on the other it went bout 382. So the average is 386kmh (240.1mph).
