@Songsmirth You can find one at the Arcane University which is in Imperial City (you must first join the Mage Guild to go past the big gates). There are 2 big gates, go to the RIGHT gate, take the first stairs to your right to go down and it should be the second door/building thats called "Chironasium". To make spells take the LEFT gate and the very last door/building to the left is called "Praxographical".

Just write me back. :) You fill them with a spell (while killing things) or an enchanted weapon that says it catches souls. Just buy a whole lot of empy soul gems of various strengths. Mages shops have them. Is the Imperial City the best place to buy them guys? I'm starting to find more on dead necromancers. I think that's right. :)

@gawain259 oh well the enchanter he used is unknown to me but where to find THE ONLY known one is at the ARCANE UNIVERSITY WHICH IS ONLY available after getting ALL the MAGE'S guild RECOMMENDATIONS and now to soul gems soul gems are devices used to trap souls with a soul trap effect on a creature and they range from PETTY to (necromancy) BLACK SOUL GEMS. BLACK SOUL GEMS are the best soul gems in the base game aside of azura's star a daedric artifact that is REUSABLE

2.Don't harm any guild members.

3.DO A BARREL ROLL!!!

4.Remember to breath, all doctors recommend it.

5.Don't lol at 3 and 4

6.Use potions in battle, and remember that alchemy makes more potions

7.Remember, "The heavenly lights" on Necromancers moon mean they are shining on the altar.

8.You need to get recommendations from all towns to join guild.

9.You need to go through ALL mages guild ACTUAL quests to become arch mage.

@xuee85 yeah you have to have the spells/abilities to enchant an item with them. a lot of the signs have specific abilities that go along with them, which you can use to enchant, and there are also stones around cyrodiil that give you other sign abilities.

@x0BOOB0x you can also enchant with Azura's Star (if it has a soul in it) but apparel like gold nudget, silver nudget, ruby, topaz etc are useless (the best thing to do with them is to sell them)

you can also use sigil stones to enchant almost anything

@x0BOOB0x you'll find 2 altars of enchantment in the chironasium at the Arcane University, but you'll only be able to get there if you are a member of the mages guild and got a recommendation  from every guild hall in every city of Cyrodil (except the Imperial City and Kvatch).

oh yeah, almost forgot,

every time you try to enchant a weapon there is a magicka limit (in the enchanting window the first symbol from the left some sort of lightning)

there it will show you the max limit you are allowed (25 or 50 or 85 etc) if you want a bigger limit then you'll need a more powerful soul to use, although 85 is the biggest value you'll ever get

to enchant you need a soul gem WITH a soul in it (Lesser, Petty, Common etc)

you can buy empty soul gems in markets or find them in random loot

you can fill a soul gem using the Soul Trap effect on a creature (and killing it before the effect wears off) or you can find one in random loot (although it's rare)

to enchant something you need an altar of enchanting (it's in the Arcane University), a tone of septims and to know and be able to cast a spell with the effect you want to enchant

Soul Gem enchanting would of been alot better if we could use more than one gem. 1600 points from grand level gems is not enough to make a good useful weapon, armor, nor accessory. It would also be great if we could add sigil stones with the soul gem enchanting instead of using them seperately. But if we were to enchant a weapon using like 70 grand level soul gems,along with 20 sigil stones, that would require alot of varla stones, which are rare (I believe there are at least 10)!
