i purchased one of these and found that the chime did not sit over the hammer and no amount adjusting it fixed the problem, it even came with a yellow paper warning of the problem which sort of floored me, it basically said "beware of design flaw, may not work". After struggling with it for 4 hours I just sent it back and got a refund.
Is anyone here a relatively deep sleeper? If you have this clock, has it worked for you? I'm looking for a very pleasing way to wake up and I'm considering this option.
I would imagine a deep sleeper just need to keep it nearer to his bed, I keep it in another room because the first single bong wakes me up because it is loud.
Other ways to wake up are available on ipod touch's, hooked up to speakers, they have many wake up clocks that are similiar to a real zen clock
I've had mine for years. I love how it chimes more & more. yes, it's MUCH louder in person & it does wake me up with the chime over & over & over & over again ;o) I am NOT a morning person, I hate going to bed, but once asleep, I detest waking up. that tells you how good it is. I like how it slowly wakes you up w/the chime, instead of dead asleep aHHHGGGHH!!! w/regular alarm clocks. you wake up much more refreshed w/it slowly chiming more as it goes.
It is a great clock, but I am a light sleeper, the first gong wakes me up, so I have to keep it in another room. Even then I usually hear the first gong, but itwakes me gently, as its frequency increases it gets annoying and i have to get up and turn it off.
Hmm I'd find it slightly amusing if tomorrow you post a video saying it didn't work and you got up 4 hours later.
I wake up to the radio, and here Radio 1 in the morning is quite a humorous show with Chris Moyles, so I wake up with a laugh and then a song. Which I prefer to BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP which it used to be
Agreed, you can find versions of this on ebay for about a hundred bucks. The company who makes them is called 'now & zen'.
I generally use an old cell phone as my first alarm, because it starts quiet and progressively gets louder, but this will be better. Of course I will keep a loud alarm as backup in case I nod off again, lol.
@BlueStarResonator I have not had a problem in over 3 years

tomorrow it might be funny, but it wouldnt be funny monday morning, lol
johnmonk66 3 years ago
Try a microphone next to the clock and a huge speaker next to your ear, that ought to wake you
xExodeusx 3 years ago
used it this morning, works very well

I need something like that! It would be nice to not be awoken with such an annoying buzzing sound of my regular alarm.
Science shows that when you wake up abruptly or wake up surprised, you generally have less energy and a worse mood in the day.
I think that's why people say you can 'get off on the wrong foot' because when you're surprised you would just jump out of bed!
