  • @Manjulaskitchen Hi aunty...i hope you are doing real well =) i had a quick question. What can i garnish these almond burfi's with? can i use raisins??? can you please suggest something. Thank you, very much appreciated.

  • @innocenteyez09

  • Namaste Auntieji, I made the burfi and it came out very tasty, except I cooked it too long and it became a little hard and crumbly. Could this be baked in an oven, and what temperature for how long a time? (Will it taste any different or have a different texture?) Thanks and I look forward to trying more of your recipes!

  • Can I use ground almond I bought from Indian store or should I use raw almonds and blend them the way you did?Can I use unsalted butter if I do not have GHEE?

  • @jawad384 You can turn unsalted butter into Ghee by heating butter and removing all the milk protein that accumulated on it :) that becomes ghee. Ghee is clarified butter - cheers!

  • @santsub Can you please tell me whether it is better to sore GHEE BUTTER at room temperature or in the fridge?

  • @jawad384 Ghee can be stored at room temperature but Butter shd be refrigerated - hope that helps!

  • Can I use ground almond I bought from Indian store or should I use raw almonds and blend them the way you did?

  • what if u dont have a blender what can u do

  • can u tell me powder name which u used in this reciepe..

  • Looks great!

  • can I use veg oil instead of ghee? Will it come out the same? if so how much oil, same amount as ghee?

    Thanks

  • @shsadaf You can use oil,. the difference is in the flavor. The one with butter or ghee is much more flavorful, on cooling, the one with oil may be a little more soft than the one with butter. Moreover, the one with oil tends to smell rancid more quickly. The one with ghee stays fresh longer, so need not be finished soon.

  • thanks! wonderful job! I'm going to make these for my friend. and I'm sure she will love them! :)

  • Manjulaji you are great,.

  • Aunty i tried this recipe, the burfi came out really well.U r best aunty.i have learnt so many dishes from u.U remind me of my mom back in india. She cooks in the same way.

  • Is it the same procedure for kaju barfi? Just replace almonds with cashews? If not then what is different?

  • can i use sliced almonds?

  • Hi Manjula

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I got this video a few minutes back and I've already tried this now!

It tastes great and the procedure is pretty straight forward. However, I could not conclude properly on the end point and so the consistency is not correct. It is a bit halwaish. Could you suggest, how many minutes exactly do we have to keep stirring it and at what heat level, from 1 - 10 ( 1 being the lowest).

    Thanks. Krithi.

  • for detailed method check my website

  • @ajoyousfriend

She said "Stir constantly" and "Medium heat", turn your volume up, it is in the video

  • can you also put a bit coconut in this badam burfi ??

  • yes taste good

  • Thank you so much Manjula auntie! But my burfi was so HARD!! What did I do wrong??!!! (it was still yummy though... :)

    Namaste : )

  • thank you auntie!

  • hi ji,

could u please tell me how to put decoration on top??

  • Thanks for the recipe. But almonds are expensive and I am not going to feed this expensive barfi to all tom dick and harry. Is there a recipe with more milk and less almonds as we buy from the halwai shop. Less costly to put before the guests. Thanks.

  • Hi

You can try replace almonds with peanuts and buy almond flavour extract from ebay, Hope this helps

  • Well, well, the advice is ok, but how can I say to my guests that I am serving them badam burfi when it is in fact made from peanuts. May be I shall use less almonds, that might do the trick, or not give it to the guests after all, just give them pakoras and very hot chillies sauce. That seems to solve all the problem. Thanks anyway for your advice.

  • You can try water instead of peanuts, it will cost even less!

  • I made this and it was very good. Thanks

  • Thxs Auntyji. Will Nelison skim milk make it with same barfi if I use it?

  • Auntyji what type of milk did you use> 2% or whole milk? Thanks for the recipe.

  • whole milk

ps I would like to see some dahl recipes please and Chana. Thanks.

(Is there any way to work in a no ghee alternative? )

  • you used too much milk, if burfee cooked for too long will be chewy

  • Thank you very much for your efforts and nice recipes. After preparing this dish, I recommend to use almond powder. (My mixer could not grind the almonds, so the sticky paste was really hard to get cut and it was just a mess).
