You need to tune the drones. MG reeds are good and if you get your chanter setup with a reed you can blow easily, then you will have a lot of pleasure from the bagpipe.
Jim McGillivray (Canada) has a great 2 x DVD set which explains everything about setting up and tuning your pipes.
Or you can come and stay on holiday in Scotland and I will point you in the right directionj!!

Get rid of them as fast as humanly possible. Get yourself a set of pipes from a Scottish pipe maker.

try bringing your drones closer together, it'll help in a uniform tone, and will be a bit more comfortable on your shoulder.
